This is a very large, beautiful, early 20th century slag glass lamp with a rare, lighted base. The lamp also features very uncommon colorful glass. The lamp appears to be all original. It is in excellent condition considering it’s age with 2 exceptions. One of the upper curved panels has a hairline crack that has been stabilized with what appears to be epoxy. It is nicely done and the crack is nearly impossible to see what the lamp is not lit and very easy to overlook when the lamp is lit. The other issue is a bit of missing filigree on one pane. Again, an untrained eye would probably never notice. I have detailed these issues with pictures. Aside from that, the lamp works and is beautiful both lit and unlit! This unique lamp will easily become the centerpiece of a room. Lamp measures 24″ tall with the shade being 20″ in diameter! PLEASE SEE ALL PICTURED FOR BEST REPRESENTATION! This is an early one. Gorgeous robin egg blue slag shade with a brass base. This is is hard for me to sell, but here goes. Its smaller, kind’ve rare measuring 17 tall. The slag shade just sits on top. It looks like at some point, a long time ago, it was soldered stationary so check those last pics out. It does sit straight. The metal has darkening with age and maybe use a good cleaning. Its a Rare beauty, I can tell you that. EARLY 20TH CENTURY CARAMEL & AQUAMARINE SIGNED RAINAUD SLAG GLASS LAMP JAPANESE GARDEN SCENE. Thank you for shopping with Bay Colony Antiques. We’re a third generation family owned business furnishing homes all over the world. We aggressively pursue important antiques, decorative arts, and objects of interest for our most discerning clients. With our highest compliments and honor we’re proud to offer for sale this magnificent early 20th century signed Rainaud 6 panel slag glass lamp with fire gilt floral Art Nouveau base and Japanese garden scene shade. Rainaud lamps were made in Meriden Connecticut, alongside others such as Handel, Bradley & Hubbard, and Miller. The United states wasn’t fully electrified until the 1930′s. Superseding this time electric lamps & lighting were reserved for the wealthier families. Lamp makers recognized this and began making lesser toned down versions everyday people could afford. This is the reason why every Handel isn’t worth 5k. This lamp is much nicer than any Rainaud we’ve seen on the market. Once the company moved towards more mass produced lamps they started branding them “RAINAUD”. This lamp is signed under the base with a stylized “R” we believe to be one of his earliest marks. The base is fire gilt in a process that affixes a small amount of gold to the metal giving it it’s luster. The lamp has an overall faux bamboo ornamentation with lilly flower and exotic vegetation. The shade depicts a tranquil Japanese garden scene with cranes, arbor, and a footbridge over water. Caramel or amber glass are the most frequently used shade in lamp making. Miller put it simply, It’s the easiest on the eye and best for reading. The 6 caramel slag glass panels make up the sky with 6 lovely aquamarine sunset panels for the water. There’s an extensive use of embossed metals & filigree to create a wonderful Japanese garden scene. The lamp is 25″ tall with a diameter of 17.5″ at the shade. Our warehousing facility located at 190 Chestnut St. Convenient downtown location just minutes away from I-91 and I-90 Masspike. Offered is this breathtakingly beautiful top-quality antique. Mission Arts and Crafts Slag Glass Oil Lamp in original condition and dating from the early 1900s. Standing an impressive 2 feet in height, the handsome solid oak base and trim is in amazingly-preserved condition given the age. The contrasting emerald green slag glass and oak shade does have one pane with a very old crack (looks like a repair was attempted long ago; see close-up photo for detail). Nonetheless, the lamp displays beautifully despite the flaw and is quite solid and sturdy. The lamp including its oil tank has NOT been drilled or electrified; the light socket and cord seen are NOT permanent and can easily be removed if you wish to add a wick and use it as an oil lamp. The lamp can also be permanently electrified if desired. Due to its fragility, the lamp will be professionally packaged to ensure safety in transit. The item “Early 1900s Antique Mission Arts and Crafts Slag Glass Oil Lamp Stickley Era” is in sale since Wednesday, July 17, 2019. Up for consideration is a very early and rare Morgan & Sons Slag Glass table lamp. This lamp is very hard to find let alone finding a picture of one. Lamp is all orig. The glass is fantastic, even better in person. The glass has no breaks and orig. The metal work is what Morgan lamps are all about. The patina is true thru out with a Verde and dark brown patina. The shade is 15 Dia. There is minor old solder repairs inside the shade but stable which is pretty common on these Morgan shade because of how they where constructed and being 100 plus years old. The base is fantastic with orig. Harvey Hubbell Sockets with orig. Mica interiors and acorn pulls. The base stands 21 tall. Just a great and hard to find Morgan. If you have question or need additional pictures just ask. The item “Early John Morgan Slag Glass Shade Lamp, Leaded, Arts Crafts, Handel Lamp Era” is in sale since Saturday, October 27, 2018.
