Antique Whaley Leaded Slag Stained Glass Priarie Table Lamp Handel Duffner Era
Please take a look, ask questions, and let me know if you need any additional pictures. While I hesitate to assign a maker there, I do believe this to be a J A Whaley prairie style leaded glass table lamp. It is a very cool and very well made lamp with a very nice geometric design in a flat prairie style or pagoda looking form. I will let my pictures do most of the talking here and as you can see from them the lamp displays extremely well and would look awesome in any setting. The shade is composed of deep caramel white pieces mixed with dark green ones to give off just the right amount of contrast. The glass is just beautiful and the design is totally arts & crafts. In terms of size, this is a standard sized table lamp with a 16 1/2″ diameter shade that stands 20 1/2″ tall. In terms of condition, I see one or two small cracks, but nothing serious and no replaced pieces. The lobed form base is why I believe this to be a Whaley lamp, but neither it nor the shade is signed so the true maker may never be known. What it is is a 100% old and authentic lamp, from the early 1900′s, in fine original condition. It has been wired with period style cloth braided cord and a nice old plug and comes ready to use and enjoy. J A Whaley is not as well known as Duffner or Handel, but they made some awesome lamps and this is one of them! These things need to be double boxed and packed really well. If you like lamps or need parts please feel free to look at my other auctions or contact me. That being said, please do not embarrass yourself with a lowball offer thinking you are going to get such a lamp like this. It is just a waste of both of our times. If you want to get a cheap lamp, go to WalMart or Ikea. If you are watching this just to watch and see if it sells, that’s fine. The 17.5 diameter shade has an open tulip design with green leaves. Lamp base has two sockets with acorn pulls and floral decor at base. Suess Arts & Crafts Leaded Slag Stained Glass Floral Lamp Handel Duffner Era

Wonderful yellow floral apron pattern against a dark green brickwork backgorund. Beautiful yet sophisticated and simple arts & crafts geometric design, with great shading. 17″ diameter shade; 20″ tall. I will let my pictures do most of the talking here but will note that both shade and base are in excellent overall condition. The shade has maybe 1 or 2 small cracks. The solid bronze base has its original brass colored finish which complements the yellow flowers just perfectly. It has its original long Hubbell sockets and acorn pull chins. Now before you ask me….. The lamp has been wired with period style cloth braided cord and a nice old plug and comes ready to use and enjoy. Large Antique Holly & Berries 12 Panel Green & Caramel Slag Glass Lamp
This is large antique “Holly & Berries” 12 panel green and caramel and slag glass lamp. While the neither the shade or base or marked, it is my experience that only the better lamps had the brass bands between each panel of glass on the underside. The shade and base are in excellent condition with no breaks, cracks or chips in the glass panels. It is missing one brass strip. The lamp has been painted white at some point in its history but that isn’t unusual for slag glass lamps. It is very large and distinctive standing 24″ high with a shade height of 9″ and diameter of 18. It was recently rewired. The base is very heavy as expected with such a large ornate lamp. Due to the size and weight of the base and shade, it can only be mailed in separate packages. NOTE: I received a question about the lamp’s missing brass strip and I responded that The one thin brass strip that is missing was decorative and served to cover the rough edges of the glass panels. I’m attaching a photo of the small area where the brass strip is missing as well as a close-up of a similar area of the shade with a strip.
