Very RARE Phoenix obverse & reverse painted lamp. Taj Mahal and trees obverse. Sky clouds reverse inside. Super thick glass you will feel the weight when you lift to put on base. Stands 22″ tall foot 7″ wide. Base retains it’s original Brass. Has 2 Bryant sockets dated 1907. Great addition to a collection this is more rare than the Conical shaped version which is all in reverse documented in Quality Electric Lamps book. Antique Metal and Copper Hanging Pendant, Slag Glass light
This is a very cool Arts & Crafts Pendant light made of steel and copper. 11″ square by 7″ tall, It hangs aprox. 34 from ceiling to bottom of shade. It could hang in as little as 18 with one chain link. There is lots of patina in the form of rust and corrosion giving it a nice primitive feel. It has been re-wired with its original? The canopy has a modern cross bar for easy install on todays boxes. Please note the solid brass hook at the canopy!! The green slag glass is in great condition, new brass tabs have been installed, and will patina in time. THIS IS AN EXQUSITE, HIGHLY ORNATE ANTIQUE (ART NOUVEAU PERIOD) VERY LARGE SLAG GLASS TABLE LAMP, SIGNED BY “MILLER”. THE LAMP IS ANTIQUE BENT SLAG GLASS WITH AN EMBOSSED BASE. THIS LAMP IS IN WONDERFUL WORKING CONDITION! THE LAMP IS SIGNED ON THE BASE AND HAS PATENT INFO. THE LAMP IS IN TERRIFIC CONDITION. IT FEATURES 6 BENT SLAG PANELS WITH AMAZING SWIRLS OF CARAMEL COLOR IN THE GLASS. MILLER FOUND THAT THE SOFT CARAMEL COLOR TESTED BEST FOR READING AND ACTUALLY TRIED TO PATENT THAT COLOR. HE LOST THE PATENT, SINCE A COLOR CAN NOT BE PATENTED. THE SHADE HAS FANTASTIC METAL OVERLAY WITH THE ORIGINAL BRONZE COLORED PAINT. THE SHADE IS ORIGINAL TO THE BASE AND EVEN THE FINIAL IS ORIGINAL! THE BASE IS IN THE ART NOUVEAU STYLE OF THE TIME, AND IS ALSO EMBOSSED WITH THE ORIGINAL PAINT. THE BASE HAS A VICTORIAN “LEAFY” DESIGN WITH LIGHT WEAR TO THE PAINT. THE WIRING & PLUG ARE IN TERRIFIC CONDITION AS WELL. THE SOCKETS HAVE DOUBLE CHAIN PULLS AND IN THE PHOTOS WE HAD A 40 WATT BULB IN THEM. THE LAMP MIGHT HAVE BEEN REWIRED IN THE EARLY 20TH CENTURY, BUT WE ARE NOT SURE. THE ONLY WEAR TO THE LAMP IS LIGHT FLAKING TO THE PAINTED METAL AND ONE SEAM IN THE METAL ON THE SHADE. (11TH PHOTO) THAT SEAM DOES NOT AFFECT THE STABILITY OF THE SHADE, AND ALL OF THE SLAG PIECE SIT SECURLY. (WE DID NOT EVEN KNOW THE SEAM WAS THERE UNTIL WE STARTED TO TAKE PHOTOS). Very rare 6 socket Duffner Kimberly bronze lamp base. This base is of bronze and has a 6 Hubbell socket cluster with acorn pulls. I could only find one B&&W picture page 164 in Paul Crist’s Mosaic shades Vol. This base is massive 27 1/2″ tall to the top of the finial with a 8 3/4″ dia. The base is in great shape with its orig. Patina, matching Hubbell sockets. The base has its DK stamped into the shaft which makes this a very early base. Base has been rewired with period brown cloth cord and old plug. If you have been looking for a very rare Highend Duffner base for that shade or just looking for a great base to have for that next Duffner shade this is the base.
