1920′s Empire Lamp Co. Chicago SLAG GLASS Lamp Dogwood Filigree Rare Pattern HTF
1920′s Empire Lamp Co. Chicago SLAG GLASS Lamp & Shade Flower Dogwood Filigree HTF Green. Lamp is dusty/dirty from years in storage. It is the buyers responsibility to clean the lamp. Shade 20″ wide x 10″ from base of shade to top of finial. Lamp and shade 25 tall. Shade measures 62 circumference. Packages will be FULLY INSURED. This is a nice slag glass panel lamp with matching floral motif on the base and shade frame. It has two color slag glass the upper 8 panels are caramel and white, while the bottom 8 panels are caramel, white and green. It has a bronze/gold like finish with slight verdigris in the recessed areas of the surface. This lamp is by the Empire Lamp Company of Chicago, it is unsigned which is often the case with Empire Lamps. It is pictured with various bases in the book Electric Lighting of the 20′s and 30′s, Volume 2 on pages 15, 17 and 18. Arts & Crafts Chicago Mosaic or Lamb Brothers Leaded Slag Glass Table Lamp
Please take a look, ask questions, and let me know if you need any additional pictures. This is a beautiful floral boarder leaded lamp that I believe to be made by either Chicago Mosaic or Lamb Brothers. Super look with a mix of red and pink flowers with green leaves against a pale caramel background. I will my pictures do most of the talking here, and from these you can see the very elegant and well thought out design of this beautiful lamp. This is a full sized table lamp with an 18″ diameter shade that stands 23″ tall. In terms of condition, I see only three ties at the top with minor hairlines…. Otherwise it is as perfect as the day it was made. The pot metal base has aarts & crafts looking design. It is heavy and sturdy with a wonderful dark greenish finish. It has been wired with period style cloth braided cord and comes ready to use and enjoy. Neither the base nor the shade is signed, and either Chicago Mosaic or Lamb Brothers would be my best guess as the company that made it. It is a wonderful, antique, 1920′s era lamp in very fine overall condition. If you like lamps or need parts please feel free to look at my other auctions or contact me. That being said, please do not embarrass yourself with a lowball offer thinking you are going to get such a lamp like this. It is just a waste of both of our times. Antique table lamp by Empire Lamp Company Chicago Illinois. Large 17 shade, morning glories, flowers filigree. Glass is apple green yellow with streaks of red, orange. All panels intact, tight, damage free. Base as well as shade are also damage free. Cleaned inside & out, all ne wiring, new modern replacement Leviton USA pull chain sockets, period correct plug end with new insulator disc. Ready to use lighting. Structurally the lamp is as I found it, including all installed hardware. I did add 2 round brass ball pull chain ends with long brass equal length chain. Overall height is 22 1/4. Some age as well as past use type wear, darkened surfaces. All end tabs are present with 1 being an old replacement, no looseness to the glass, nice and tight shade. Please see all pics. Two pull chain sockets (look updated) Cord and wiring look original. 24″ to top of finial, 9″ base, shade 16 diameter. Shade 7 lb 12.7 oz. Base 7 lb 12.6 oz. Excellent used antique condition. Some paint missing inside top ring. Some paint wear on finial and some edges of lamp shade frame. No chips, cracks or repairs. Normal wear from use and age. This is a great looking Bent Slag Glass Lamp by Chicago Empire Co. It stands 23 inches tall on it’s urn vase shaped sculpted 7 1/2 inch cast iron Base and weighs 18 pounds. The shade is the Empire “Morning Glory on Trellis” style and is 16 1/2 or 18 1/2 inches in diameter depending on measuring flats or corners. The apature is 3 3/8 inches. The overlay is complete and all the carmel colored Bent glass is complete, no cracks or chips. It has a great dark patinated finish. The lamp has been correctly rewired and works perfectly.
