Antique Chicago Empire Co. Bent Slag Glass Lamp Miller Bradley & Hubbard Handel
This is a great looking Bent Slag Glass Lamp by Chicago Empire Co. It stands 23 inches tall on it’s urn vase shaped sculpted 7 1/2 inch cast iron Base and weighs 18 pounds. The shade is the Empire “Morning Glory on Trellis” style and is 16 1/2 or 18 1/2 inches in diameter depending on measuring flats or corners. The apature is 3 3/8 inches. The overlay is complete and all the carmel colored Bent glass is complete, no cracks or chips. It has a great dark patinated finish. The lamp has been correctly rewired and works perfectly. I made all pictures with day lights, flesh and without lights to show how is so nice blooming flowers looking! I see only a few (3-4) heat line cracks. The lamp base has 25 inches tall including finial and signed under bottom of the base (please look last picture). The lamp base has a very nice original greenish ,, frog skin” patina and three old sockets with pull chains and finials. In very good working condition. HUGE 28 Chicago Mosaic Floral Leaded Slag Stained Glass Lamp Shade Chandelier
Here’s an absolutely MASSIVE and extremely colorful Chicago Mosaic floral shade. This shade is just huge…… 28″ in diameter but only 9 1/2″ deep. As with most Chicago Mosaic shades, the colors are just incredible. These guys used primarily granite backed glass that really fires when lit, and this shade is an excellent example of this. Some of these really large shades have issues with broken, replaced or sagging glass, but this one does not. It is in incredible shape. I see maybe a couple of small cracks there and there, but nothing serious. Also, there do not appear to be any replaced pieces. It is really just as good as the day they made it and ones in this condition are truly hard to find. This shade would be best as a hanger…. Maybe over your kitchen table or in the living room. You could also make a great floor lamp out of it if you could find the right base. Its just a beautiful, HUGE, and extremely colorful example of Chicago Mosaic’s finest work. Antique Outstanding CHICAGO EMPIRE Slag Glass Lamp Swans Verdi Green
This is one stunning Chicago Empire Slag Lamp! Measures about 25 1/2 inches high. The shade is about 20 inches across, point to point, and 18 inches across, flat to flat. This is the most desirable of Chicago Empire Lamps, with Swans on the Verdi Green Base and Birds/Swallow filigree over the 16 paneled green/caramel slag glass panels. The lamp was professionally restored with several birds replaced. All panels were removed, carefully cleaned and reinstalled. The sockets work well and the wiring is in good condition. The photo of this lamp was taken from the reference book, Electric Lighting of the 20s & 30s, Vol. The pictures do not do this gorgeous lamp justice! Leaded glass geometric/ floral shade lamp. Stands 27″ tall 8″ foot. Shade 17.5″ wide 9″ deep. 2 Bryant satellite pull chain sockets. Main cord is twisted dark brown cloth with vintage style plug. Lamp is in excellent Antique condition, anyone with any knowledge of these leaded lamps know it’s nearly impossible if real, to have no heat fractures. This one I see 2 last picture of shade pics barley noticeable. No glass lose none missing or smashed. Shade as normal too is unsigned Mosaic shades rarely if ever signed shades.
