Original Handel Lamp Slag Glass Arts Crafts Antique Tropical S Border Shade
Up for your consideration is a very nice Original Handel Lamp Company Tropical Sunset S Border shade. This shade is 7 wide and 5 1/2 tall with a 2 1/4 fitter. It has one of the green skirt panels that has a tight crack, shown in one of the photos. This is common for these old shades, all other glass in crack free. This shade has very nice orange/reddish glass that looks amazing fired up. The shade is 100% original with the original reddish/brown patina with natural formed green verde through out. RARE Bradley & Hubbard Oasis Tropical Sunset Slag Glass Panel Lamp Handel Era
Just out of a local house is this very rare Bradley and Hubbard slag glass panel lamp. It is large and has the “Oasis” or Tropical overlay design somewhat like Handel’s tropical lamps. The lamp stands about 28 inches tall and weighs a substantial 29 pounds. The shade measures about 22 1/4 inches across, about 24 inches at its widest, and about 9 1/8 inches deep. The lamp has 8 upper panels in a caramel/white glass and 8 lower border panels in multi colored green, caramel, and a little orange and white glass. The base is highly detailed with winged angels or cherubs, acanthus leaves, and ornate scroll work. The base has an early B&H four socket cluster only marked Pat Apld For. The base has some wear to its finish, has some replaced sockets, and was rewired with antique style wire. The electrics all work well. The shade has lost a small portion of its palm tree filigree on one lower panel (see the last 2 photos to see the missing palm leaves). Some of the border glass may have been replaced some years ago but it is not easy to tell for sure. See photos as they are part of the description. We have known the previous owners of this lamp for over 40 years and they finally decided to sell it to us. It may be one of the rarest Bradley and Hubbard lamps ever made. Would make a nice addition to any collection and is guaranteed as described. We are located near Clinton, New Jersey close to Routes 78 and 31. Items left over 90 days will be considered abandoned unless other arrangements are made. Antique Handel Tropical Sunset Slag Stained Glass Overlay Floor Lamp
Please take a look, ask questions, and let me know if you need any additional pictures. This is a beautiful and all original Handel tropical overlay floor lamp. Just a wonderful looking lamp all the way around, with great glass and beautiful color. The lamp stands 57″ tall and the harp area is 14″ wide. The shade is 7 in diameter. The shade has no replaced pieces and no repairs. All of the filigree is present and accounted for. The base has its original dark brown finish with age wear here and there from use….. But has not been cleaned or messed with. The shade is not signed, but guaranteed to be an original 1905 era Handel tropical overlay shade. The base has new felt on the bottom, but retains its original Handel cloth tag. The lamp has been wired with period style brown cloth cord and a nice old plug and comes ready to use and enjoy. It has just become too difficult and costly to do so effectively. It is actually much better for both of us this way as they will fully guarantee it to get there without damage and if something happens they will 100% stand behind it without any claims hassle. I have worked with this UPS Store over many years and they do a great job with things like this. You are also more than welcome to come and get it yourself, or if we are close I can meet you somewhere with it. If you like lamps or need parts please feel free to lo.
