Vintage 1920s Slag Glass Lamp in beautiful shape cast base marked CC CO and 6
This lamp has a cast iron base and the shade appears to be cast iron as well. I have attempted to show any flaws of which there are few, most notably on the picture of the base. There does not appear to be any repairs made on it and it seems that someone along the way rewired it with period correct cloth wire to maintain it’s integrity. “There is a lot of confusion about the mark “C C Co. That appears on this lamp and others. I researched it and found that this was a distributor mark. They distributed Miller, B & H, and other manufacturers lamps for a short time. This item measures 21 inches tall by 7 inches at the base and the shade is 8 inches tall by 12 inches at the base. It weighs 7 pounds and 15 ounces without extremely careful packaging. Recent estate find, had to outbid a few guys but I could not resist purchasing this very unusual flared wing design lamp and shade. I have to say that through all my years of collecting I have rarely, if ever, seen such a rare and unique slag glass shade as this one. This lamp stands out among the many different styles that we see in the usual market place.. Sure to catch your eye. The lamp stands 19 1/2′ tall and believe it or not it is 16 1/2 from tip to tip. The lamp itself is a chocolate brown color in mint condition…. It has a single socket and pull chain. The eight panel shade has such a standout design that is complemented by its condition. The filigree, shade runners and top holder are in mint condition see pictures. The filigree and slag glass panels are free from cracks or breaks as far as I can see.
