Antique Slag Glass Pictures / National Cash Register Employes Awards Lamp 1922
This lamp is just one of a few that were made for certain employes of the National Cash Register Company who had met their quota for May and June of 1922. The gentleman’s name on this particular plaque is J. I have personally seen only 2 other lamps such as this one. These lamps are quite HEAVY and made of solid bronze. The lamp shade is made up of a series of pictures from the National Cash Regester Company and its surrounding areas. Two of the panels had gotten damaged and were replaced as close as possible to the original pictures. The glass shade portrays these images with a process called photographic transfer imaging. Has to do with the negatives from the pictures. This lamp is in excellent condition It is a beautiful and very rare lamp. It weighs close to 17 pounds and again solid bronze. The lamp measures 20″ tall with a 8″ square base. The shade measures 14″ x 14″ and 8 tall. In good working order.

The lamp has been professional rewired. The socket inner has been updated and the casing kept to preserve original. The base is VERY heavy and has great patina and beautiful when lit up. As you can see in the pictures, some surface pitting on the base light cover. The lamp shade is 8 sided and all panels are in great shape. I can not see any cracks. Colors are blue and beige. Overall the filigree is in good shape, however, some soldering or welds need to be done as you can see in the pictures, so it is structurally sound. I would not recommend placing the shade on till the repairs are done. The shade is very heavy also. The finale is not original. Would love to keep it, but lots of kids and dogs. Need I say more!
