Large Obverse Painted Slag Glass Table Lamp
This slag glass panel lamp has obverse painted panels that highlight the delicate filigree design. The base has an equally detailed matching design. The bronze polychrome finish is in great condition. The base has two pull chain sockets that are in good working order and has been rewired with cloth covered cord. The shade is 18 inches wide and 9 inches tall. The base is 8 inches wide and the whole lamp is 23 inches tall.
Antique Arts Crafts Deco Table Lamp For Reverse Painted Slag Stained Glass Shade
Gorgeous Original Antique Lamp. Lovely RESTORED antique condition! Working well and freshly rewired with vintage style cloth cord and Bakelite plug. No maker’s marks on the lamp itself, but a catalog number 1735 on the bottom. Probably circa early 1900′s – the type of base typical for use with Tiffany style, reverse painted or slag glass shades. Nice, ornate cast design – poppy floral motif around the base and on the central column, alternating with cabbage leaves on top of the base and the top of the column. This is a heavy 5.5 pound well-made piece. Beautiful polished brass with the original antique bronze finish on the cast iron base. The brass sockets are made by Hubbell and have been cleaned, tested, rewired and are working well. Use the cap on the top of the lamp for holding a reverse painted shade with a hole from 2 5/8 inches up to 3 1/4 inches in diameter, or add any stained glass or slag glass shade on the finial post or a lovely fringed shade would look great! A beautiful piece of art and lighting history, restored and ready for a new life with you. The lamp uses 2 standard-base light bulbs up to 60 watts each (or use LED bulbs for any brightness you like, as they use low wattage for bright light). It’s a medium-sized table lamp that measures 24″ tall and about 20″ wide, with the shade measuring 19.25″ x 11.5″ x 8. The lamp uses 2 standard base light bulbs and is perfect for lighting up your home. This original piece is from the 1990s and is in excellent condition, though there are some lights dings and scratches to the wood, most especially were the shade holder arms attach (which doesn’t show when the lamp is assembled). Beautiful textured chipped ice reverse painted 3 panel lighted base. Untested but I’d be shocked if it didn’t work. So because I’m not testing. No damage to glass. Most of the reverse paint is gone on all but 1 panel. 1 panel is pretty nice. No damage to metal. Knob turns as should. Original finial and cap. Bottom opens and closes as should.
