Antique table lamp by Empire Lamp Company Chicago Illinois. Large 17 shade, morning glories, flowers filigree. Glass is apple green yellow with streaks of red, orange. All panels intact, tight, damage free. Base as well as shade are also damage free. Cleaned inside & out, all ne wiring, new modern replacement Leviton USA pull chain sockets, period correct plug end with new insulator disc. Ready to use lighting. Structurally the lamp is as I found it, including all installed hardware. I did add 2 round brass ball pull chain ends with long brass equal length chain. Overall height is 22 1/4. Some age as well as past use type wear, darkened surfaces. All end tabs are present with 1 being an old replacement, no looseness to the glass, nice and tight shade. Please see all pics. Small Empire Slag Glass Table Lamp Circa 1915-1925
This lamp was made by the Empire Lamp Co. As you can see it in the pictures from the old catalogue. The lamp is in great condition, with all of its bent panels undamaged and a gold finish that is in great shape. Has been rewired with a cloth covered cord. The shade is 5 ½ inches tall and 7 ¼ inches wide. The base is 15 inches tall and 5 inches wide. Please look at all of the pictures, thank you. It has a very ornate design with great detail. It’s a good quality shade and is quite heavy for it’s size weighing in at nearly 9 lbs It’s in very good used condition w/ normal wear. There is no broken pieces in the filigree and the glass panels are in good used condition too If you take a look at the last pic (14) you’ll notice a fleur de lis at the top with each having a point in the center. Well, all the points were pushed in from the weight of the shade being placed on the top (the small end) instead of the bottom (the large end) when it was off the base. This is one stunning Chicago Empire Slag Lamp! Measures about 25 1/2 inches high. The shade is about 20 inches across, point to point, and 18 inches across, flat to flat. This is the most desirable of Chicago Empire Lamps, with Swans on the Verdi Green Base and Birds/Swallow filigree over the 16 paneled green/caramel slag glass panels. The lamp was professionally restored with several birds replaced. All panels were removed, carefully cleaned and reinstalled. The sockets work well and the wiring is in good condition.
