Edwardian Era Slag Glass Chaised Brass Lamps Stunning
Edwardian Era Slag Glass Chaised Brass Lamps – Stunning.
Ant Edwardian Slag Glass Lamp Works! From Estate of Descendant of General Seward
Antique Edwardian Style Slag Glass Lamp Works! Bronzed Brass Base w/ Embossed Detailing. From the Estate of a Descendant of General William Seward Jr. Would make a great gift for a special occasion, or keep for yourself! Just beautiful colors on this slag glass lamp. The slag glass components are a cream and tan/brown color. Can see bubbling in them when the glass was cast, nice touch to reflect age. The lamp dates to the circa 1930s to 1950s period. Very intricately detailed metal frame with nice cut out designs of trees and grasses that securely hold the glass and accentuate the beauty of the shade. Just beautiful when lit, and yes, this lamp does work (no bulb will be provided)! All the metal frame seems to be intact, no missing pieces or repairs. We also do not observe any cracks, hairlines or repairs in any of the pieces of slag glass, other than a piece missing at one end of a shade component at the bottom. Does not show thru the frame when set up. The brass frame has raised design on the bottom part. The frame has a gold colored bronzed look to it. We do not see any maker markings on the lamp. Looks very similar to Pittsburgh Glass Lighting pieces we have had in the past. Could be marked and we just don’t know what we should be looking for. The base of the lamp has a brass bronzed look to it. The hanger frame for the shade shows some finish loss to the arms. The electric cord on the lamp was replaced at some point. Still looks to be in good shape, no cracking or fraying. The Vtg Slag Glass Lamp is 20.5″ tall, by 16.75″ across the bottom of the lamp shade. The top of the shade is 5 across. Other items that can be seen in the pieces are not included, only the slag glass chandelier described here. Wiring and sockets look good, but would be best to have looked at by a certified electrician before using. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures. Don’t be shy to make an offer, we are always open to reasonable suggestions. Other items that can be seen in the pictures are not for sale, just the chandelier described here. The pictures provided both complement and supplement the listing description, so please look at them very closely as well. With old items, there is no way one can capture all the little imperfections in words, so the two media are meant to be the full description. Antique Slag Glass Electric Lamp Shade Signed Unknown Base Edwardian Style Work
The shade has 6 caramel slag glass panels. The diameter of the shade is 16 inches and a height of 5 inches. The lamp base stands 20 inches tall the base is 8 inches in diameter. The base is marked , I don`t know the mark, it is a Orb with appears to be back to back B`s. I couldn`t find the maker associated with the mark, but did find an identical lamp shade , base and mark on the internet, they were wanting to know who the maker was also. Nobody seemed to know who the maker was. The lamp base has been rewired part way, the lamp works, no broken pieces. The metal is nonmagnetic, the base appears to be cast brass. The base has alternating panels of tulips and ruffles. The 2 light sockets have pull chains. There does appear to be any repairs or damage to the lamp. The metal frame of the shade is a pattern of garlands and ribbons. The top finial of the lamp does come off.
