Splendid Blue Tyfanny Style Antq Pair /Lamps w Bended Slag Glass Pannels & Brass
Magnificent blue Tyfanny style, antique pair of lamps with six bended slag glass pannels and brass square base. Stained slag glass lamp shade. Brass base with bronze finish. Double pull chain switch with fringe. Each of the six pannels of glass is hand-soldered into place using the traditional copper foil technique with splendid filigree foral pattern acessoires and very elegant curve lines, (trimmed with a fine mini spiral wire). The flowing colour is blue basically, with hypnotic hues of green and yellow, creating a movement effect, not to mention the decorating calming and soothing effect. Due to the different monitor and light effect, the actual color of the items might be slightly different from the color showed on the pictures. The base rests on a square block and is mainly a bulbous central pillar with stylised acanthus leaves pattern and fluted upper segment, finished by the lighting part made of the two sockets for the two bulbs with the two fringes for the double pull down chains. Antique Bradley & Hubbard table lamp base. Cast Iron, Art Nouveau period, style. Retains most of the original dark brown finish. Signed at the cluster as well as the base plate underside. Thoroughly cleaned, hand rubbed. New modern replacement wiring throughout as well as period correct plug end with new disc insulator. Matching General Electric fat boy style pull chain sockets. Porcelain internals, new insulators, even length long brass pull chains with brass balls. Ready to use base, no shade. No cap or finial, just what is shown. Finial thread is present. Age related wear, darkening, light oxidation, small amounts of green at the base edges. A small amount of copper color paint or finish is evident at both socket ends, subtle, looks like it has been there for years. Stands 20 1/2 in height excluding the finial thread. Base is 8 wide. All original antique large diameter curved slag glass lamp with heavy Victorian detailing. The bottom of the base was covered with felt and we tried to expose the H&B marking but during the years there was minor rust build up around the stamp and we decided just to show the picture on the interior underside of the marking (See picture 8 & 9). There is no damage to any of the slag pieces and the two pull chains work with ease and do not get stuck. The electrical cord is the old cloth covered kind and does not have any fraying.
