1920s Bradley & Hubbard Art Nouveau Table Lamp with Slag Glass Shade
1920s Bradley & Hubbard Art Nouveau two-light table lamp with slag glass shade was totally stripped down to its base metals: cast iron base & center pole; heavy cast white/pot metal base urn, B&H two-light socket head, top finial, and filigree shade frame; and tubular brass vertical pipe sections & joiners. Then, the cast iron was soaked overnight in Rustoff before priming and doing the antique bronze restoration. Brass was hand-polished and a light lacquer spray applied to facilitate oxidation and re-aging to restore patina naturally. New Kokomo Glass Company slag glass used for six panels in the hexagonal-shaped shade with acorn & oak leaf filigree designs. The two-light socket head has the B&H triangular mark and the bottom of the base has the same B&H triangular mark as well as 2496 on a small raised plate (see photo). This classy B&H Art Nouveau lamp stands 21 1/2 inches high and is 20 inches wide with the base 8 inches in diameter. It weighs 16+ pounds. Rewired with new cloth cord and a reproduction wall plug, it’s ready to grace your study or living room. Light bulbs not included. This 1920s Art Nouveau boudoir lamp is made of heavy cast metal with a cast iron harp. The six-sided shade frame is heavy cast metal with crisp designs. The lamp has been restored in nutmeg & tan with gold accents. The slumped slag glass panels are white with pale honey swirls. All slag glass panels are original & are in excellent condition with no cracks. One panel has a tiny corner chip that is hidden by the frame. The lamp stands 14 tall and is 7 at the widest. 1920s Scrolled & Cut Metal Arts & Crafts Style Table Lamp Slag Glass Shade
1920s Scrolled & Cut Metal Arts & Crafts Style Table Lamp; Slag Glass Shade. A rare survivor – an all original, early 20th century table lamp. Heavy cut iron corners on the base with scrolled metal sheets making up the side panels. The shade is also cut metal with implied rivets, and a scrolled top. The finish is a mottled black and green. The glass panels in the shade are mostly an oxblood color, mixed with light and bright greens. Two long pulls from the original cluster socket. One pull has the original acorn-style pull, while the other is a replacement bell shape. Aside from the wiring, all original. The painted finish is on everything but the sockets. From one of those increasingly rare types of estates – one with items from several generations in one house. The lamp works and both pulls operate smoothly. The wiring is not new, and could use replacing. The finish has some wear at the base – a couple of rust spots and paint loss at the low point of one of the base’s scrolled sides. The scrolls at the top of the shade do not all line up perfectly, but this appears to be because they were done by hand. 27 tall to the top of the finial. Base is 14 tall to the top of the scrolls. The base is 7 from corner to corner. The shade measures 12″ wide at the bottom, and 4″ at the top. The scrollwork is 5.5 from corner to corner. All items come from a smoke free home. This 1920s Art Nouveau desk lamp is made of very heavy cast metal (lamp base & shade frame) with a brass’corduroy’ tubular arm and cast brass adjusting knuckles at each end of the arm. The two slag glass panels for the shade are white with pale honey streaks. The slag glass is new and in excellent condition. The lamp has been restored in bronze & natural brass. Brass was cleaned, hand polished & lightly sprayed with a brass protector. As shown, the lamp stands 14 1/2 tall, 9 at the widest and extends 12.. The oval base is 8 by 5 1/2.
