I always called this style of base the chinese base due to its form and bottom scroll work. It measures 24 inches tall and would have been meant to hold one of the higher end reverse painted shades. That doesnt mean it wouldnt take a handel leaded and look correct either but i put it out there nonetheless. This is a semi hard to find base in comparison to the more common handel bases that are out there. Its been recently rewired with proper period style cloth cord and has an antique plug.
