LARGE ANTIQUE LAMP solid brass GREEN SLAG oil lamp conversion 1800′s INCREDIBLE
THIS WILL MAKE A STATEMENT IN ANY ROOM! Made by Royal P&A in the 1800′s. It was originally an oil lamp but has been converted to electric. PLEASE SEE ALL PICTURES OF THIS BEAUTY. Extra large green and white slag shade. Each of the 16 slag glass pieces are held together by an ORNATE metal design. The base is ornate as well and solid brass. The perfectly designed body is glass and has a great satin/velvet look about it. The lamp stands almost 24″ tall and is over 17″ wide. Absolutely no cracks or chips in the glass body. The brass pieces have little wear and perfect patina. The lamp is made of all metal and glass. The shade is free of any missing glass and only has one of the small pieces with a crack. It looks to have some quality past metal repairs. The cord is heavy duty and has the switch built into the cord. The cord is extra long as well. The socket is a little loose but does the job as it should. It was taken very good care of! It appears to have almost all of its original pieces and could be converted back to oil if wanted. This is a great period piece! I estimate it to be from around 1910. Glass is white with hues of green. Very thick and solid base. It is a heavy and well built lamp. Perfectly stained to bring out the beautiful oak. IT IS A LARGE LAMP. Just under 16″ across at it’s widest and 21″ tall. The base is 10 1/2 square. It turns on as it should. The wood is in good shape with only light signs of age. No major scratches, dings, or dents. All glass is free of chips or cracks. Looks great when lit up. Impossible to find Suess solid bronze lamp base with original finish, cap, sockets and all the works. 24″ tall, 10 1/2″ wide at the bottom. Beautiful dark green finish. Matching long Hubbell sockets with their original interiors and acorn ended pull chains. Wired with period style cloth braided cord and ready to use….. All you need is the right shade! Located in Faribault, Minnesota, in the early 1900′s. It is crafted in solid oak and it’s beautiful slag glass is shaded in pastel green and pink. It measures 23″ tall, 19″ square, and weighs 12.5 lbs. The base measures 8 x 8. The condition is incredible, and at 100 years of age, it works wonderfully with all it’s original parts. This original lamp was created in the early 1900′s by the Peterson Art Furniture Co. Located in Faribault, Minnesota. It is crafted in solid oak and it’s beautiful slag glass is shaded in pastel green and pink. It measures 23″ tall, 19″ square, and weighs 12.5 lbs. The base measures 8 x 8. The condition is incredible, and at 100 years of age, it works wonderfully with all it’s original parts. The term Prairie School is specific to a time period (the late 19th century and early 20th century) and falls in line with the Arts & Crafts movement. With inspiration from mid 19th century England, the Arts & Crafts movement eventually spread throughout Europe and then to North America, including Canada, where it became known as the American Arts & Crafts movement. Peterson Art Furniture was founded in 1905 in Faribault, Minn. By John Peterson, who was born in Denmark in 1871 and emigrated to the United States when he was 13 years old. He was employed as a wood carver and cabinet maker in Massachusetts before coming west to work in a furniture store in Minneapolis. In 1895, he joined his brother Andrew in Faribault and worked as a carver and designer with the Hutchinson-Stockton Furniture Company until 1901, when he started a furniture company of his own in Waterville, Minn. The company acquired other furniture factories, including Daisy Woodcraft, North Star Furniture Co. And the Faribault Furniture Co.
