Antique 1920′s Edward Miller Gold Gilt Art Nouveau Caramel Slag Glass Table Lamp
Here is a recent estate find. This is a Rare Antique Working Caramel Slag Glass Art Nouveau Electric Table Lamp, made in the USA, during the early 1920′s by the Edward Miller Lamp Company USA. The Base is a Fancy Ornate Gold Gilded Cast Iron Base, Which Has Been Professionally Restored with New Gold Gilt!!! It is Signed Underneath “11″ with Faded Remnants of a Makers Mark, as pictured. The Domed Gold Gilded Cast Metal Mushroom Style Slag Glass Shade has Eight Caramel Slag Glass Curved Panels, with Fancy Decorative Victorian Overlay at The Top and in the Corners. The Lamp Measures approx. 26 1/2 Tall to the Top Of The Ornate Decorative Victorian Finial. The Shade has a 17 1/2 Base Diameter, with a Height of approx. The Shade is in Good Condition with Most of the Original Finish, and is the Correct Original Shade for the Lamp. There are Two Sockets with Pull Chain Switches, Which are Working Correctly. The Glass is in Excellent Condition with No Cracks or Damage, Looks Great!!! The Lamp is in Excellent Working Condition and is Safe to Use in Your Home. Antique Blue Slag Glass Gilt Metal Table Lamp Nice Base
Description & Condition: Up for sale is this antique unsigned gilt metal base with blue slag glass table lamp. The shade has 6 curved panels and the round shaped base with a unique design. It s in good original condition but will need to be rewired. The shade measures 16″ in diameter and the lamp stands 22″ tall to top of finial. I don’t usually see these in blue! THIS IS A GORGEOUS WARM GREEN SLAG GLASS “SILHOUETTE” TABLE LAMP. THE LAMP HAS 6 PANELS AND IS A BIT HEAVY! THIS LAMP IS CIRCA. LATE 1910′S AND ON THE BOTTOM IT IS SIGNED “RAINAUD” AND NUMBERED. THE SOCKETS ARE A DOUBLE CHAIN PULL. THE SHADE HAS 6 PANELS OF GREEN SWIRLED SLAG GLASS WITH GILDED METAL OVERLAY. THE OVERLAY HAS A SCROLLED DESIGN THAT GIVES THE SHADE A “SILHOUETTE” LOOK WHEN IT IS LIT. TOWARDS THE TOP OF THE SHADE IN THE IN THE 7TH PHOTO, YOU WILL SEE A FEW OLD REPAIRS AND REGILDING TO THE METAL THAT HAVE HELD UP WELL. THERE ARE A FEW SEAMS IN THE METAL ON THE FILIGREE OVERLAY. THE SLAG COLORING IS REALLY NEAT BECAUSE WHEN THE LAMP IS LIT IT CHANGES COLOR BY ADDING YELLOWS. THE BASE HAS THE ORIGINAL FLAME FINIAL, AND THE DARK METAL HAS FADED GILT ACCENTS. THE RIBBED COLUMNS ON THE BASE SPIN. ALL OF THE SLAG GLASS PIECES ARE IN GOOD SHAPE. ALL OF THE ELECTRIC IS IN TERRIFIC CONDITION, HOWEVER WHEN THE LAMP WAS REWIRED THEY KEPT THE ORIGINAL SOCKETS, AND THE CHAIN PULL WITH THE BRASS CHAIN CAN COME LOOSE IF YOU PULL IT WITH TOO MUCH FORCE. (IT JUST PUSHES BACK INTO PLACE) BOTH SOCKETS HAVE SLIGHT MOVEMENT. AGAIN THIS PIECE CARRIES A BIT OF WEIGHT! THE LAMP BASE MEASURES 23 1/4 TALL TO THE TOP FINIAL, AND THE SHADE IS APPROX.
