The base is made of solid bronze, and the piece is signed on the shade. The shade measures 6.25 in diameter, and the lamp has been professionally rewired and is immediately ready for use. The lamp is in excellent condition. The shade is free of chips, cracks, or losses to the filigree. The base has a rich patina, is in excellent condition, and complete. When it lits —very nice amber, honey, caramel, yellow tone colors, lower panels have “OAK LEAVES & ACORNS” pattern with green, brown colors, 4 lower panels were replaced. No damage to lamp base , only a few “frog skin” oxidation spots which is usually for lamp over 100 years old, very strong structure!!! The lamp base has original cluster with three original “HUBBEL” sockets with original pull chains and finials. Shade has metal tag/stamp on the ring-”HANDEL lamps” and lamp base had green felt with stamp “HANDEL Lamps” on a side of the bottom which was lost /please look at the pictures/. C1915 SIGNED BRADLEY & HUBBARD B&H 8 PANEL SLAG GLASS LAMP SCENIC FRETWORK. If you have a United States address I will be happy to send it there. Presented is an 8 panel bradley and hubbard slag glass lamp. The lamp measures approx 21″ tall to the finial – the shade is 16 1/4″ in diameter point to point and approx 9 1/2 tall. Glass is in excellent condition, no chips or cracks. Signed Bradley and Hubbard on the rim of the shade. The glass is in need of a good cleaning, came straignt out of an estate. The lamp is in working condition, but i always recommend rewiring. I present detailed photographs of my pieces which I consider part of the listing – please study them and please feel free to ask any questions you might have. THIS IS AN EXQUSITE, HIGHLY ORNATE ANTIQUE (ART NOUVEAU PERIOD) VERY LARGE SLAG GLASS TABLE LAMP, SIGNED BY “BRADLEY & HUBBARD”. THE LAMP IS ANTIQUE BENT SLAG GLASS WITH AN EMBOSSED BASE. THIS LAMP IS IN WONDERFUL WORKING CONDITION! THE LAMP IS SIGNED ON THE BASE AND READS PAT. APPLIED FOR AROUND THE DOUBLE SOCKET. THE LAMP IS IN TERRIFIC CONDITION. IT FEATURES 5 LARGE BENT SLAG PANELS WITH AMAZING SWIRLS OF CARAMEL COLOR IN THE GLASS. THEY FOUND THAT THE SOFT CARAMEL COLOR TESTED BEST FOR READING AND THAT IS WHY SO MANY ANTIQUE LAMPS USED THAT COLOR. THE SHADE HAS FANTASTIC METAL OVERLAY WITH LOVELY BRONZE COLORED PAINT. THE SHADE IS ORIGINAL TO THE BASE AND EVEN THE FINIAL IS ORIGINAL!! IN THE 2ND PHOTO YOU CAN SEE A SLIGHT GAP BETWEEN THE METAL AND THE SLAG GLASS, IT WAS PROBABLY DESIGNED THAT WAY BUT WE THOUGHT IT WAS WORTH MENTIONING. THE BASE IS IN THE ART NOUVEAU STYLE OF THE TIME, AND IS ALSO EMBOSSED WITH SOME WEAR TO THE PAINT. THE BASE HAS A VICTORIAN DESIGN. THE WIRING & PLUG ARE IN TERRIFIC CONDITION AS WELL. THE SOCKETS HAVE DOUBLE CHAIN PULLS AND IN THE PHOTOS WE HAD A 60 WATT BULBS IN THEM. THE LAMP WAS PROFESSIONALLY REWIRED IN THE MID 20TH CENTURY, AND IT LOOKS LIKE ONE OF THE SOCKETS WAS REPLACED. WE ARE NOT SURE IF THE PAINT IS ORIGINAL, BUT IT LOOKS FANTASTIC. IN THE 7TH PHOTO YOU CAN SEE LIGHT WEAR TO THE PAINT. IN THE LAST PHOTO YOU MAY BE ABLE TO SEE THAT THE TIPS OF 3 OF THE BRASS TABS HAVE BEEN GLUED DOWN. THE REPAIR IS EFFECTIVE, AND ALL OF THE PANELS SITS STURDY WITH NO RATTLE! THE ANTIQUE LAMP MEASURES 23 1/4 ” TALL TO THE FINIAL, AND THE SHADE IS ABOUT 17 11/16 ” WIDE. WE MAKE SURE THAT WE MEASURE TWICE AND DO OUR BEST TO DESCRIBE EACH ITEM. Signed 1912 Royal Art Glass Co Slag Glass 12 Panel Lamp skyline scene light
Wow what a beauty!!! It does need a SEVERE CLEANING!!! There is a complete crack in a bottom straight panel as shown (it is a break but the frame of the lamp holds it tight together) and there is also a crack in the very top metal decorative piece in the corner. What is glaring is the beautiful art work and the glass color that would take your eyes away from any flaws. IT has 6 upper and lower panels. IT stands a little under 24 tall. The shade is about 11 1/2 tall and 17 12/ in diameter. IT looks great all dirty, can you imagine how it will look once you give it a detailed cleaning. The base is signed on the bottom Royal Glass Co 1912. I can’t say for sure that it is the original base but if you find Royal Glass slag lamps, it certainly looks like it and at the estate sale, they said they were 95% certain was the original base.
