The condition of this base as you can see is in SPECTACULAR condition. It has the original GE sockets with the upper stem, cap and finial showing signed of verdigris. Handel Reverse Painted Thistle Lamp Leaded Slag Glass Tiffany Pairpoint Era
For sale is a Handel table lamp having a stylized floral design surrounding the top of the shade with brightly colored flowers with yellow stems all in a white outline with turquoise and yellow dots. The floral design is all set against black a background that makes the floral design stand out when lit. The shade is finished with a wide band around the bottom edge with leaf and scroll designs against multi-colored polka dot background. The 18 inch diameter shade is signed Handel 6837. Sometimes Handel would make lamps on commission and this is likely one of those lamps. The shade rests on an original Handel trumpet style ribbed base with leaves imprinted around the base and has an overall height of approximately 25 ½ inches. The base has a dark brown finish with green patina and is guaranteed to be all original. The base has a four socket gooseneck cluster with Hubbell sockets and long acorn pull changes. The base is stamped n the bottom Handel. There are not too many bases out there that are better in appearance and quality than this base. This is an outstanding one of a kind lamp. You want a lamp that looks like no other maker, well this is it. The base without any excuses and it has been recently rewired with proper period style cloth cord. The shade without chips, breaks, or damage and lights up better than my photos can project. Very very minor paint losses here or there, but condition way better than expected for a 100 year old lamp. The shade also in very nice overall condition and with any breaks or damage in the filligree or the glass. The base measures 20 inches tall with the shade being 16 inches wide. Just simply an excellent period lamp from a great maker and very seldom seen. Of course if you would like to pick it up at my location that is welcome as well. For sale is a superb Handel table lamp having a reverse painted shade with bright yellow daffodils and shaded green leaves. The shade is also painted with small red flowers with yellow centers that vibrantly accent the shade when lit. The daffodils and red flowers are set against a shaded black and light green background. The exterior of the shade is finished in chipped ice. The 18 inch diameter shade is signed on the inside rim 7122 Handel and the artists initials. The shade is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, paint loss or paint sickness. The shade rests upon a Handel base with an urn shaped body and raised decorative band surrounding the shoulder. The base is complete with a three socket cluster, acorn pulls and a pierced fluer de lis cap. Base has a dark brown finish is signed on the underside with an impressed script signature. The base is in good condition with wear commensurate with its 100 year age. The overall lamp height is 24 inches.
