Antique Bradley Hubbard Genie Overlay Slag Panel Lamp 12 Handel era Arts Crafts
Up for consideration is fine 1920′s Bradley & Hubbard Genie Lamp with nice Brickwork overlay 12 paneled shade. The piece stand about 12 inches in height and measures about 7+ inches in length. It functions and the lattice work is completely intact… The 6 larger curved panels are in fine condition. However on of the small flat rectangular bottom panels has been taped together… This is an a very minor issue and can be repaired easily by most people locations that cut glass and of course it is a common color of glass light carmel slag… The base looks to have been painted black at one time… The base is heavy well made and shows great detail in the casting… If you have any questions or something to share please message me.. Going out of business sale! Antique Table Lamp with Slag Glass Curved 8-Panel Overlay Shade Signed A&R. As you can see, the original paint is in remarkable condition. Condition is used, but this lamp has been well loved. 1920 era beautiful table or library lamp has an original shade with eight curved stained glass panels and is signed “A & R Co” (of Newark, NJ). The bronze toned filigree shade and embossed base have original hand painted details. Two brass standard base sockets have pull chain switches. Lightbulbs are not included. The lamp is 22 tall. The shade is approx. 19 across at the widest part. Marbleized /caramel slag glass panels are undamaged. Salem Bros, Scenic Panel Overlay Slag Lamp, Lions Rabbit Scene In Africa Setting
This type of lamp has been commonly referred to as a slag glass or panel overlay lamp. The lamp is large as it stands 21 1/2″ tall and is 18 1/8″ in diameter, diagonal measurements. The shade measures 15 5/8 wide from flat side to flat side. The lamp displays and scenic overlay scene of what appears to be a scene out of Africa. It is accented with 6 bent or curved slag glass panels and flat stained glass for the sides. The grass is done in a mint green opalescent stained glass with the sky and background done in a blue lavender stained glass. In the overlay you can see a hut with a Lion in the right hand corner and a rabbit in the left. In the sky is an overlay of a tree with lots of branches. The detail in the overlay is outstanding. This shades sits on a 3 arm with a ring or shade holder to simulate a gas type light. It is lit with a single light socket that has a later 3 way interior for 3 levels of light. The base is round on the foot and has a column with raised relief of a torch on each flat side. There is a leaf pattern in raised relief on the foot. This table lamp is in excellent condition. The condition of the shade and base is outstanding for over 100 years of use. The base has no major dings and the shade is free of any cracks. None of the curved glass nor flat panels show any damage. The base is signed on the underside bottom “Salem Bros” in a round wafer shaped disc. I added green felt to protect ones furniture after I took the picture. This lamp has been professionally rewired with period looking brown rayon cord. It still retains its original lamp plug and the 3 way socket works wonderfully well. I have seen similar overlay of this scene done by Miller Lamp and Bradley and Hubbard but this one is of the highest quality I have ever seen. It is strong, thick metal and quite heavy for its size. Large Bradley & Hubbard Caramel Ribbed Slag Glass Lamp W Grape Leaf/Vine Overlay
Very unusual, Antique Arts & Crafts Bradley & Hubbard Ribbed Slag Glass Lamp c1920 Signed 4X. Grape leaf/vines overlay on the seams between the 8 panels. Panels are curved and ribbed. I havent seen another with glass like this. Base is signed by the sockets and shade is signed at least 3 times on the rim going around the inside. One socket has been replaced and the other 2 are original with the acorn pulls but one is stuck in the on position. This is a large lamp standing 23 inches to the top of the finial. Shade measures approximately 20 inches across and about 7 inches high.
