This lamp is made of various materials including cast iron, slag glass and wood. The top is cast iron and painted in a yellow hue. The pieces running around the lamp are wooden balls in the same yellow with green large spools. The slag glass pieces inside the lamp are painted with various scenes of Japan. Up for your consideration is a very rare and large B. Radley and Hubbard slag glass lamp, with the triangle on the underside of the base. It is the largest size of table lamp made by B & H, see my photo for an average sized Handel comparison. It is 28 inches tall and the shade is 26 inches wide. All the glass without damage and great coloration, the hand-wrought bronzed and riveted metalwork of the shade also without any breaks or damage. The base recently rewired with proper period style cloth cord and in fine working order. The sockets all original and are signed Bryant. The base appears to have been professionally repainted, with a green undercoat, and various mixed metallic paints. This is only one of 3 examples of this highly-desirable lamp that I have seen. HUGE WILKINSON SLAG GLASS PANEL LAMP. Is a really big unsigned Wilkinson slag glass panel lamp. The lamp stands 26.5″ tall and the shade has a maximum diameter of 19″. All of the decorative filigree is present on the shade. The focal point of the base is a cameo design bordered by a ram’s head on either side. The number on the base is 250. THE LAMP IS IN ORIGINAL CONDITION The shade rest and finial are original to this base to my knowledge.. CONDITION: THERE IS DAMAGE TO THE SHADE.. SOME PANELS HAVE CRACKS IN THEM.. AT LEAST 5 PANELS NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. AS THEY HAVE CRACKS IN THEM OR HAVE POORLY BEEN REPAIRED. THERE IS ONLY 1 ACORN PULL AND THE OTHER 2 ARE BALLS. We are not experts in this lamp or product use your best judgement and ask all questions prior to purchasing. This lamp is extremely heavy. Im guessing over 20 lbs.. HUGE! Antique 8 Panel Curved Slag Glass Lamp Shade Caramel & White
HUGE ANTIQUE CURVED SLAG GLASS SHADE. I picked this piece up at an estate sale in Northern NY State about 7 years ago. At that time they told me that it had been brought over here from Scotland by one of their ancestors and it had hung in a large hall. They said it had housed a gas fed lamp. I have no way of knowing if this is true, but that’s the story I got! This shade is HUGE!!! Measures a full 22 inches in diameter, and approx. 13 inches in height. The Crown at the top measures at 9 inches across. ALL slag glass panels are in excellent condition. While photographing this, I did notice some of the decoration had split away from the frame… About a 3-4 inch split(please see pics) It looks to me like this could be fixed w/ just a touch of JB Weld. It does not affect the structure or stability of the shade. There is also a little bit of paint loss on the crown, but i’m guessing this piece is well over 100yrs old, so that’s to be expected.
