Leaded glass lamp unique art glass company handel era arts and crafts slag glass
Up for your consideration is a nice old lamp attributed to the Unique Art Glass Company. The shade has an irregular apple blossom border and a green/white geometric dome pattern. The shade measures 16 1/2 inches wide and 9 inches tall. The base is 8 inches wide at the foot and 22 inches tall with a single pull socket. The base has a wonderful rich brown patina and has been rewired with a cloth covered cord right for the period. Close examples of this lamp can be seen in Paul Crist’s book “Mosaics II” on page 74. The only difference is the color of the flowers…. The pattern is the same. The lamp is unsigned but most certainly an example of the Unique Company’s work. There are a few very tight hairline heat cracks and 2 specific tiles that are noticeably damaged but none are loose and all the leading and copperfoil are correct. The lamp can be turned so that neither of these tiles are displayed and it does not take away from the lamps beauty. Local pick-up in the Washington D. Metropolitan area is available. This lamp is over 100 years old and she is very sturdy and still maintains the small wire hoop that was soldered to the interior of the shade to display a hanging price tag. Thank you for looking. Antique Slag Glass Lamp N. W. A. S Company circa 1920s
Beautiful Lighted base slag glass lamp. Lamp was made in the 1920s. Lamp shade measures 19 1/2 in diameter, with eight upper and eight lower panels, two tone glass, upper amber, lower blue. The base has four upper panels and four lower panels with the same glass color configuration as the shade. Height of the lamp including finial is 29. Without finial is 24. Lamp glass is excellent condition with no cracks. Metal casting is polycrome brownish gold with factory detail painting of flowers with reds and greens. Age related scuffing mainly on the base. The lamp has been rewired at some point in time but should probably be done again. Operation of light has two pull chains and base switch. Three different light modes.
