This is an absolutely gorgeous lamp whether lighted or not lighted. Antique 8-Panel Curved Green Slag Lamp With Pink, Green, Red Floral Stain Glass. Measures 28 from the base to top of finial. 18″ diameter of globe and globe is 9″ tall. There is a piece of old tin on bottom of the base. One socket is original Hubbell with classic acorn pull chain. The base is bronze and very heavy!! There is a patina to the bronze which I will leave for new owner. Appears that someone tried to polish the lamp and some white residue is in some of metal overlay. The metal overlay is exquisite with vines and birds! One small top section of metal overlay is missing and loose. Weighs 22 lbs before packing. Please ask if you need additional photos. This is a beauty! Antique 24 8-Panel Concave Bent Slag Glass Table Lamp Miller Bradley Phoenix
A large, antique, 8-panel, concave-bend, slag glass parlor table lamp. Overall height is 24″ / 8-panel shade is 18″ across. Finding no mark of maker. Very striking and unusual concave bending of shade’s upper portion glass; no damaged glass in any of the 16 panels. Probably rewired at one time — the wire and plug look to be maybe from the 1950′s. Early, brass ” P&S PATENTED” sockets w/6 ball-end pull chains. One socket not lighting up when pulled (likely a wire connection issue, but we are not electricians). Wonderful patina on decorative cast iron base, with original cast iron shade cap and finial. Only defects are a tiny separation of the upper fitter framework (NOT LOOSE, very slight separation in the cast spelter framework, which might be factory made) and a thin portion of the spelter overlay on one panel missing (see photos for detail). Otherwise a striking example of the Miller / Handel / Bradley-Hubbard period’s lighting. Recovered from attic storage, so dusty as found — we have NOT cleaned the base or shade; will improve greatly from as found with a good bath! Our pictures do not do the lamp justice. Antique artist-made Arts and Craft 8 panel bronzed-brass slag glass lamp shade with unique Fleur-de-lis design. Unsigned – likely made in New Orleans or France. There are 7 panes of the blue slag glass and one reversed hand-painted flower pane, The glass panes slide into the panel mounts – fasteners are at the top. Some of the fasteners are missing – the previous owner used tape in its place. No cracks, re-welds, or repairs in the metal. Side panels- 6 7/8 x 5 3/8. Glass panes are 5 x 6. Total height including the ring on the dome is approximately 11 tall. Shortest width – 13. Widest width (diagonal): 14. Found in a old plantation estate in south Louisiana.
