Ornate Brass Marble Table Lamp FOR Stained Slag Glass Shade Tiffany, Handel Styl
A GORGEOUS Ornate Brass & Marble. Tiffany or Handel Style Table Lamp Base. Everything about this lamp is RARE. The marble base says made in… We can’t tell what the sticker said, but look closely at that marble… (See the photo for the sticker that is under the felt). The dark pieces you see are all cast metal and of course everything shining gold is solid BRASS, including the 2 “Meteor” pull sockets (as well as their pull chains). Even the solid brass finial is something unique. What a conversation piece! NOTE: When we took it apart to clean it, there was an engraving on the bottom Cast Iron piece that said “BP No 20″. This is heavy enough put on Tiffany (or Handel) Style Stained Leaded Glass Lamp Shade. It weighs almost 8 pounds. Measurements: 27 to the top of the finial. The marble base is 6″ square x 1″ thick. Ornate Antique Old Victorian Silver Gorham Leaded Slag Stained Glass Table Lamp
Please take a look, ask questions, and let me know if you need any additional pictures. This is an outstanding example of Gorham’s work in stained glass table lamps. Just look at the detail in the shade….. And the matching base! This lamp is one that was specifically made this way, with exactly matching base and shade. The emblems on the shade are exactly matched to those in the base. The quality is second to none, with extremely fine lead lines and a great selection of glass. I will let my pictures do most of the talking here since I cannot describe this lamp any better. What I will say is the lamp looks just as good lit as it does unlit, but lighting it does bring out some of the subtitles in the glass. As for size the shade is 17″ in diameter and the lamp stands about 22″ tall. It is silver plated on the leading and in the base. The details in the emblems are just wonderful and these are repeated in the base. I see maybe 10-15 small cracks, mostly in the red glass behind the emblems, The base has 4 matching Paulding labeled sockets with their original porcelain interiors and acorn ended pull chains. It has been wired with period style cloth braided cord and a nice old plug and comes ready to use and enjoy. I have seen many Gorham lamps but have not come across this exact one before. It may have been a special order for a wedding or some gift or something….. But suffice it to say that there can’t be many out here like it. It is a beautiful example of their work. If you like lamps or need parts please feel free to look at my other auctions or contact me. That being said, please do not embarrass yourself with a lowball offer thinking you are going to get such a lamp like this. It is just a waste of both of our times. Ornate Antique Art Deco Floor Bridge Lamp Smoking Pipe Stand Slag Glass & Chrome
Has a few issues but all in all a great styled period piece. The lamp has no cord. See last four pics for following issues. The lighter has been broken and glued back together, lighter has no cord so done know if it works, one of the tiered glass pieces has a small crack, the ball has a tiny chip, the one ashtray needs the cigarette rest soldiered back on. These issues are not the worst, they are small and not too noticeable and can be turned toward the back. Will come disassembled as seen and most likely in two packages. Ornate Miller Window Pane 16 Panel Slag Glass Lamp
The shade has lovely granite textured carmel glass on the top, and coral glass in the skirt. The ornate base has a really interesting shell like wavy bottom and swag leaf neck. It has 2 pull chain sockets and has been re-wired with cloth covered cord. It`s signed ML CO on the bottom. The lamp stands 22″ tall, the shade is 16″ across and the base is 7 across.
