Leaded Lamp, Hampshire Pottery, Slag Glass Shade, Arts Crafts, Handel Lamp Era
Up for consideration is a nice Tulip Leaded glass lamp with a rare large Hampshire pottery signed Tulip base. The shade Is a Bent Slag leaded glass shade which I believe is a Whaley. Very difficult to make shades that have the bent Slag glass with the leaded Tulip flowers. The shade is 16 Diameter 7 Deep with a 3 1/2 aperture. Condition is very good. I see no cracks but there are some straw marks from the making of the glass and they have dirt over the years so they look like cracks but dont show thru on the inside of the shade. Wear to the leading. But being a antique thats to be expected. The base is a Rare Tulip signed Hampshire pottery 0013 with even the rare paper labels which are still there all these years. No cracks or repairs in the pot. The 3 socket cluster has Hubbell, s with orig. Interiors and acorn pulls mounted to a large brass oil lamp font thats been converted to electric. The base stands 20 tall and is about 12 wide. The base has been wired with period style cloth covered wire. I took a lot of pictures which is part of the description. A great looking lamp. Bigelow & Kennard Hampshire Leaded Slag Stained Glass Table Lamp Handel Era
Please take a look, ask questions, and let me know if you need any additional pictures. This is a great looking lamp whose shade was made by Bigelow & Kennard and whose base is Hampshire. I have seen combinations like this with many Hampshire bases and most look pretty good, but this one is just outstanding…… Its a perfect match! It has just a wonderful squatty Arts & Crafts look. I will let my pictures do the talking here since they can do a better job than I can about describing i. T, but will note that the shade is 19 1/2″ in diameter and the lamp stands 20 1/2″ tall. The shade is not signed, but I had a. One in pure white a few months back that was signed, and I will fully and unconditionally guarantee this to be a genuine Bigelow & Kennard shade. This shade is done with wonderful dark yellow/white glass which gives it a very rich color when lit. The glass is like the kind they used in Bradley & Hubbard lamps….. That really deep and sought after yellow stuff. Without even a singe crack and all of the filigree is just fine. It is so well. The Hampshire base is what I believe to be a fairly rare form with an. Swirl design that is repeated 3 times around the girth. I see no cracks or chips in the base and the finish is outstanding. The base is signed as shown and even has an old paper label with the number 007 on it. It comes complete with matching GE labeled sockets having their original porcelain interiors and ball ended pull chains. Has has been wired with period style cloth braided cord and comes ready to use and enjoy. This is a really nice arts & crafts themed table lamp with a great Hampshire pottery lamp base. If you like lamps or need parts please feel free to look at my other auctions or contact me. That being said, please do not embarrass yourself with a lowball offer thinking you are going to get such a lamp like this. It is just a waste of both of our times. If you want to get a cheap lamp, go to WalMart or Ikea. If you are watching this just to watch and see if it sells, that’s fine. I see a single partial break in one of the non-flower containing pieces (as shown), but no others. The shade is beautiful, well made, and in great shape. The Hampshire base is what I believe to. Be a fairly rare form with two large handles on the ends. These handles are in excellent condition and have not had any repairs (as I would think others in this form may have due to their fragility). The combination works wonderfully and the base accompanies the shade just perfectly. I see no cracks or chips or in the base, but there is a bit of a lighter area line that is approximately 2 long on the right hand side which can be seen in several of my pictures. The base is signed as shown and even has an old paper label with the number 004 on it. It comes complete with matching BRYANT labeled sockets having their original porcelain interiors and ball ended pull chains. Hampshire Pottery, Lamp Base, Leaded, Slag, Stained Glass Shade, Handel Lamp Era
Up for consideration is a very rare and fine Hampshire Pottery Squat Bulbous 1905 Matt Green Glaze lamp base. What a great base, These are very hard to come by and this one has some great hardware. The Hampshire pot is signed and numbered on the bottom. The green Matt finish is fantastic. There are no chips or lose to the finish. On the bottom you see where there are minor cracks where the bottom feet are. These are very shallow and are caused by the firing process they are not damage. I took a picture of the inside of the pot to show there are no cracks inside. The pot is 6 tall and about 11 1/2 in Diameter. The hardware cluster ball riser and wheel are bronze. The upright is brass along with the oil font. The three sockets are the hard to fined 250v Hubbell screw cap and have there original interiors and insulators with Acorn pulls.
