BIG Art Deco Houze Akro Agate Style Caramel Slag SKYSCRAPER WATERFALL TABLE LAMP
Extremely rare & working, vintage Art Deco Houze, Houzex, Akro Agate style caramel slag skyscraper waterfall table lamp with replaced 3-way socket, removable harp and polished hardware measures approx. 25H to the top of the harp. As the lamp was dismantled for cleaning, I found that there is glass chipping damage to the bottoms of four of the 6¾H melon-ribbed, half-rounded fluted areas that connect with the brass plated ferrous metal plinth, some of which is shown, but not highly noticeable given the base location. The 5½H torpedo-shaped, middle connecting piece of slag glass has both some minor topical glass flaking roughness and some mfr’s rough glass at the top brass cap cup connection location that gets camouflaged when in place, also shown. The brass capping cup that secures the torpedo-shaped piece has a sectional dent and metal split, shown. Beneath the cleaned metal surfaces, the metal attachment pieces have aged patina wear, which add to the used character of this artisticly designed table lamp. The 3-way switch is in good working order, and the lamp is safe to use. The style of this 1930s-1940s vintage skyscraper waterfall lamp is rare and unusual.
