Up for your consideration is a very large antique leaded glass lamp attributed to the Chicago Mosaic shade company. This lamp measures almost 30 inches tall and the shade is 24 inches in diameter. The lamp’s base is sculptural resembling an open root tree trunk. This is a very striking lamp when lit and will certainly be the focal point of any room. I have this sitting on a Stickley tabouret table and it looks very nice. The shade is in very good condition for it’s age but with any old shade there are tight heat cracks. They in no way detract from the overall beauty of this lamp. Please look at the pictures I have included. There are no loose pieces of glass and all of the solder/copper foil is tight and correct. I also sent pictures of the lamp to Paul Crist studios and was assured that the lamp was correct in all ways. The lamp has been rewired and it has the correct heat cap and finial. I will entertain offers but anyone who knows what this lamp is understands it is priced well below retail. Box just for the shade and the base will be packed separately in 3ft x 2ft X 1 ft. Up for your consideration is an antique leaded glass lamp attributed to the Chicago Mosaic shade company. The pattern is that of stylized lily flowers with a white background. This lamp base measures almost 23 inches tall and the shade is about 18 inches in diameter and 8 inches deep. The base has some wear but is in good working condition and is a signed example. I had to replace the finial so it is not period. This is a fairly rare shade and I have only seen it come up for sale a few times. There is some damage to the heat cap. It is a bit dinged up as people have the tendency to over-tighten them. There are 4 cracked pieces of glass shown in the last two pictures. They are two green pieces and two white pieces on the very edge of the shade that can be repaired. There are a few other tight heat cracks that are not really discernible. The shade displays nicely as the damage is confined to a 3 inch area. The lamp is still a nice example with a lot of textured glass so it really sparkles. Please look at the pictures I have included. Aside from the damage I described all of the solder/copper foil is tight and correct. The lamp is over 100 years old so it is in good shape for its age. I try to describe and photograph my lamps the best I can. If you have any questions about this lamp please contact me 301 407 5688. I have for sale this super and seldom seen chicago mosiac floral lamp. Its also a supersized lamp measuring 27 inches tall with the shade being 23.5 inches wide. For comparison reasons an average large sized lamp would be 22-23 inches tall with an 18 inch shade. Once you get past that sized every inch added is substantial believe me. The very desirable base in tree trunk form and in excellent patina throughout. No damage at all to report. The base also signed (which is quite rare in that chicago mosiac rarely signed their stuff) and with original bryant sockets with acorn pulls. There are no metalware breaks and the base in fine working order. The shade also in equally nice condition with solid leading throughout with the leading having no weak spots. The shade with vibrant and multiple colors throughout and lighting up way better in person than in my photos. There are some tight age cracks that are nothing to be alarmed about at all, as they are solid and not going anywhere for another 100 years if even then. I count about 6 or so and they do not detract from the shade at all as they is probably a thousand pieces in this shade and thats no exagerration. If they werent there, i would be nervous lol. Also i see no signs of repair anywhere on the base or shade. Zone two would be 75.00 times 20% which equals 15.00 which is added to the 75.00 and becomes 90.00. Zone three is 75.00 times 33% which is 25.00 which then becomes 100.00 for zone three. Sorry to do this and I hope you will stay on as fine and loyal customers. We may be able to hand deliver this item ourselves. What that means is this. If you live in the following radius or just outside it, we should communicate about not using a major carrier, so it has a better chance of survival and minimizing damage or a damage claim as well. So when I see your offers, I have to subtract those costs to get to my net. The costs can be up to 250.00 per item depending on the final price. I will be offering my lamps as reasonable as possible so as to 1. Not cause sticker shock like so many other sellers, 2. To sell them and not let my inventory sit around for years on end. Thanks for checking this great lamp out and please check out my other great lighting options as well. Recently I have been putting different lighting on with reserves and no reserves. Please Check out my other items! Some great Bradley Hubbard, Tiffany, Handel, etc. To all potential buyers. Please feel free to. Chances are if there aren’t any, it’s a newer item and you shouldn’t want it anyways. In other words, a minor blemish on some metalwork belonging to a large shade or a 1/16 by 1/16 of a paint flake missing, please try and be reasonable. I always describe the important aspects towards condition reports and sometimes my eye misses what I deem immaterial issues such as the aforementioned sentence. Thanks for your understanding. There are a few things in life we cant do without. Food, water, fire, oxygen, the sun, shelter etc. So when it comes to shelter and necessary light for it, thats where I come in. I believe in living simply and within my means but surrounded by items of great quality. Of and the wasteful utilities that go along with that. So why is it people go out and spend. Not to mention you got the same usage for that entire time period? This makes infinitely more financial sense than the other choice, plus you have a conversation piece in the room and something to be proud of. Also you have more cultural feeling invested in something 100 years old knowing that it can never be duplicated by modern making techniques and knowing there a few, if any, like it left for this world and now its yours. You display it and care for it. So again thats where I come in. Great period lighting when electricity was still in its infancy. When makers like Bradley and Hubbard, Handel, Tiffany studios, Pairpoint, and others cared about quality, appearance, and function. When makers were trying to outdo one another with this new business boom of electric lighting. When we went from whale and kerosene oil lamps and gas, to electric. This is when the best lamps in the world were manufactured and the ones I want to light my home with when its dark. I cant control the sun or the amount of light it provides or when it comes up or goes down, and whether its cloudy or not, but I can control the light in my home when its dark. And like I said earlier, I want nice rugs, paintings, pottery, furniture, etc. And I want to see those items lit by great lighting. Its what makes a home more outstanding and livable because without it you see absolutely nothing. A quality lamp makes or breaks a room. You can have the best rugs, furniture, paintings, and accessories in the world, but without great lamps or lighting nobody will ever see it.
