Up for sale I have this amazing gorgeous ANTIQUE SCENIC SLAG GLASS TABLE LAMP with a unique heavy ornate base SLAG GLASS SHADE has four sides with 8 panels there are no markings that I could find on the base or the SHADE TABLE LAMP is 25 1/2″ tall to top of finial by 6 1/4″ square at the base SHADE is 9 1/2″ tall by 15 1/2″ round at the bottom TABLE LAMP is in excellent antique used condition when considering the age there are no chips or cracks in the SLAG GLASS however there are some imperfections in the metal scenic work from over the years two of the panels have some missing metal work on a tree and one panel has one of the boaters that is broke off the fancy ornate base looks like it consists of several different metals and had some paint on parts of it at one time that has worn off over the years (looks amazing as is beautiful patina) aged beautifully LAMP works perfectly with a three way switch on the fixture I was not expecting to see the glass change so much when turned on to a gorgeous sunset or sunrise!! Antique Arts Crafts Slag Glass Ornate Scenic 12 Panel Lamp Signed Miller Co 1920
This is a beautiful and ornate Miller Lamp Co 12 panel lamp from the early 1900′s. The lamp features a scenic overlay shade and colored curved glass to accent the scene. The shade looks to be all original and the glass is unbroken. The base looks to have been refinished at some point but matches the shade pretty well. The shade rests on a Pittsburgh type support and the base has 2 working sockets. The base has an interesting cord port that I have not seen on many lamps. Overall, this is a great looking lamp from the Arts and Crafts Era. PLEASE SEE ALL PICTURES AS THEY ARE THE BEST REPRESENTATION> Lamp is signed on the bottom of the base. Lamp is approx 21.5 tall. STUNNING Antique Arts Crafts Slanted Slag Glass Ornate Scenic 6 Panel Lamp Shade. Condition is “Used” with some paint/enamel wear throughout. Some light rust on the other side lip, see photos. Its a metal with a cream enamel, hints of color throughout to accentuate the scene. The bottom glass is made to look like grass the the top has a blue with spots of purple for maybe a sunset. The home has a fireplace going, super cozy, super detailed, I have not seen another like it. No damage to glass or metal as far as cracks or repairs, it is old, it is not mint condition. The wear just shows how authentic it is and give it such gorgeous patina. The top opening is 4.5 round. The bottom is 16″ and is 7.5″ tall. If you have any questions please ask. Salem Bros, Scenic Panel Overlay Slag Lamp, Lions Rabbit Scene In Africa Setting
This type of lamp has been commonly referred to as a slag glass or panel overlay lamp. The lamp is large as it stands 21 1/2″ tall and is 18 1/8″ in diameter, diagonal measurements. The shade measures 15 5/8 wide from flat side to flat side. The lamp displays and scenic overlay scene of what appears to be a scene out of Africa. It is accented with 6 bent or curved slag glass panels and flat stained glass for the sides. The grass is done in a mint green opalescent stained glass with the sky and background done in a blue lavender stained glass. In the overlay you can see a hut with a Lion in the right hand corner and a rabbit in the left. In the sky is an overlay of a tree with lots of branches. The detail in the overlay is outstanding. This shades sits on a 3 arm with a ring or shade holder to simulate a gas type light. It is lit with a single light socket that has a later 3 way interior for 3 levels of light. The base is round on the foot and has a column with raised relief of a torch on each flat side. There is a leaf pattern in raised relief on the foot. This table lamp is in excellent condition. The condition of the shade and base is outstanding for over 100 years of use. The base has no major dings and the shade is free of any cracks. None of the curved glass nor flat panels show any damage. The base is signed on the underside bottom “Salem Bros” in a round wafer shaped disc. I added green felt to protect ones furniture after I took the picture. This lamp has been professionally rewired with period looking brown rayon cord. It still retains its original lamp plug and the 3 way socket works wonderfully well. I have seen similar overlay of this scene done by Miller Lamp and Bradley and Hubbard but this one is of the highest quality I have ever seen. It is strong, thick metal and quite heavy for its size. Antique Slag Glass Scenic Panel Lamp Shade Similar to Bradley & Hubbard quality but is not signed, Condition is Used. Great crisp detailed metalwork of trees and foliage. All original slag glass No breaks or cracks in the glass or the metalwork. A very nice panel shade — just needs to be paired with the right base. Measures 11″ across from angle to angle and is approx, 8″ high. Hole at top for a finial is approx 1/4 in diameter. Glass is fairly opaque amber, cream and dark bluish-green.
