Williamson Arts & Crafts Prairie Leaded Slag Glass Lamp Shade Chandelier
Please take a look, ask questions, and let me know if you need any additional pictures. This is a wonderful arts & crafts prairie style chandelier. I believe it was made by Williamson, but as with most of these period shades it is really difficult to be sure. What I can say is it is a very early, all came leaded shade that uses fabulous granite backed glass. Its a huge shade as well, measuring 28 in diameter. The prairie style shape means it is only about 6 deep. Just a fabulous look! I will let my pictures do most of the talking here but will note that the shade is in excellent overall condition with no repairs or missing pieces. I see a couple of very small cracks in a few of the pieces, but nothing major or at all concerning. The shade has what looks like its original 3-arm cluster with BRYANT labeled mica turn keys. The chandelier has amazing thick hanging hooks and about 11 of solid bronze thick chain. The cast iron canopy measures 10 in diameter. It has been wired with period style cloth braided cord and comes ready to hang in your home. This is an incredibly RARE hanger in wonderful original condition that lights up amazingly. It would make a statement in any room. If you like lamps or need parts please feel free to look at my other auctions or contact me. That being said, please do not embarrass yourself with a lowball offer thinking you are going to get such a lamp like this. It is just a waste of both of our times. If you want to get a cheap lamp, go to WalMart or Ikea. If you are watching this just to watch and see if it sells, that’s fine. Williamson Hampshire Leaded Slag Stained Glass Table Lamp Handel Tiffany Era
Please take a look, ask questions, and let me know if you need any additional pictures. This is a great looking lamp whose shade was made by the R. Williamson Lamp Company and whose base is Hampshire. I have seen combinations like this with many Hampshire bases and most look pretty good, but this one is just outstanding…… Its a perfect match! I will let my pictures do the talking here since they can do a better job than I can about describing i. T, but will note that the shade is 18″ in diameter and the lamp stands 23″ tall. I see a couple of small breaks in the glass panes here and there, but nothing serious. The Hampshire base is what I. To be a fairly rare pattern as I have not seen this exact one before. It has a similar floral design raised in it that accompanies the shade just perfectly. I see no cracks, chips or serious scratches in the base which is signed and numbered as shown. It comes complete with matching ARROW labeled sockets having their original porcelain interiors and ball ended pull chains. Has has been wired with period style cloth braided cord and comes ready to use and enjoy. This is a really nice floral table lamp with a great Hampshire pottery lamp base. R. Williamson Nautilus Shell Leaded Slag Stained Glass Duffner Tiffany Era Lamp
Please take a look, ask questions, and let me know if you need any additional pictures. Everyone knows Tiffany, Handel, Duffner……. But most people have never heard of the R. Williamson lamp company who made this fabulous lamp. They were a smaller Chicago-based company that competed with the other’s I mentioned but had their own unique style. They are highly collectible and rarely found. I have not owned many myself, and this one is really quite special. I’ve seen florals, geometrics, and just about everything in between from other makers of that time period….. But have never seen a nautilus boarder shade. Its just a very unique design and will stand out among your more run-of-the-mill varieties. Just a wonderful design made with some really great glass. The shade is 18″ in diameter and the lamp stands just over 24″ tall. I see 2 or 3 small hairlines in the glass, but nothing major. All original hardware, old sockets with their original porcelain interiors, and old ball ended pull chains. Base has been wired with period style black cloth braided cord and an original old plug and comes ready to use and enjoy. This is a really rare lamp from a relatively obscure maker that doesn’t get offered very often. They don’t get much better than this in terms of color or condition, so don’t let this one pass you by. The last image is a black and white picture that I got from a friend of mine that shows this nautilus lamp from an actual R. Sorry for the quality of the image, but that’s the best I can do. It has just become too difficult and costly to do so effectively. It is actually much better for both of us this way as they will fully guarantee it to get there without damage and if something happens they will 100% stand behind it without any claims hassle. I have worked with this UPS Store over many years and they do a great job with things like this. You are also more than welcome to come and get it yourself, or if we are close I can meet you somewhere with it.
