Duffner & Kimberly Arts & Crafts Leaded Slag Stained Glass Lamp Tiffany Era

The shade is done in an upside down basket style, and the peony floral pattern is reproduced twice on the shade. I have seen this style shade with hollyhock flowers, but this is the first example of a peony one that I have come across. I will let my pictures do most of the talking here, but will note that the glass is all original and there are maybe 4 or 5 small cracks here and there. The shade is 18″ in diameter and the lamp stands 24″ tall. The simple colonial style base has its original finish and sockets and has been wired with period style cloth braided cord. Folks, nice floral lamps from Duffner & Kimberly do not come up all that often and I can honestly say that you won’t find one in as nice or in as original condition as this one. Rare Duffner & Kimberly leaded glass lamp! Base cap finial shade. All Duffner & Kimberly. The design is unusual but what a colorful shade with examples of all the many colors of. Glass they had to make shades. Design looks to be someone in the design dept. Was drinking too much Cocaine Cola or something. Some call it “the Gourd” I’ve heard “sheep Head” “Fan Blades” your shrink may be interested in what you see when looking at this shade. I see a great example of the glass & workmanship of the Duffner & Kimberly co. Huge lamp stands 24 tall. Shade is a full 20″ x 7″. Last picture shows tight fractures in one spot of shade. Base has cloth cord looks to be original? Working fine 3 Bryant Satelite pull chain sockets. Great example to add to a collection or just show off in your front window! The domed shade is made with all bent glass and the red and pink flowers have a wonderful contrast against the pale green background glass. I will let my pictures do most of the talking here, but will note that the glass is all original and there are maybe 1 or 2 small cracks in the very small glass pieces around the flowers…. None of the main panels have any damage whatsoever. The shade is 19 1/2″ in diameter and the lamp stands 23 1/2″ tall. The simple colonial style base has its original dark brass finish and sockets and has been wired with period style cloth braided cord. Folks, nice floral lamps from Duffner & Kimberly do not come up all that often and I can honestly say that you won’t find one in as nice or in as original condition as this one. Duffner Kimberly Lamp, Leaded, Slag, Stained Glass Shade, Arts Crafts, Handel Lamp
Up for consideration is a very fine Duffner & Kimberly Adams Lamp. This beauty is shown in the PAUL Crist Mosaic Shades Vol. 2 book page 204. This lamp is in fantastic condition. I counted 3 very small heat cracks on the bottom border. The lamp is huge 29 tall with a 8 foot. The shade is 22 in Dia. And 9 deep with a 3 3/4 slip fitter. This lamp is done in an Orig. Gold gilt finish from the shade leading to the base. The base is all orig. When I rewired this Base with period correct Brown cloth lamp wire all the sections of the base are numbered including the shade cap as shown. The sockets are Hubbell Harvey with orig. Interiors and acorn pulls. All matching gold gilt, even the Acorns. The plug is also Hubbell. The shade is just stunning. The glass is all orig. There is some wear to the gold gilt leading, There is one panel with no gold gilt around the glass panel but no replaced glass in this shade as you can see they all match. Old gilt lose is to be expected for 100 plus years old Lamp. These lamps dont come up very often. I have other pictures of the minor cracks or if you need additional pics or questions please ask. Up for consideration is a very nice Duffner Kimberly Hanging Shade. The shade has fantastic glass and is massive 27 in Dia. Also comes with a 6 socket Duffner cluster with Hubbell Sockets orig. Interiors and acorn pulls. Also comes with heavy brass link chain and a Duffner ceiling canopy. This fixture is all Duffner complete which you dont find very often. The fixture total length is 40 to the bottom of the shade. Condition is very nice is see a couple minor tight heat cracks no repairs or replaced glass. This shade is shown in the Mosaic Shades Vol. 2 PAUL Crist book page 231 bottom of the page. I have other lighting up so please take a look. Please take a look, ask questions, and let me know if you need any additional pictures. This is a nice example of a later Duffner & Kimberly arts & crafts lamp. I say later since the design of the cluster and cap were modified. Please see my last picture of the cluster setup as it is identified in Paul Crist’s Book, Mosaic Shades II. And the base was made simpler as the company faced. Still, these later lamps were made with the quality one would expect from Duffner, even in the face of the company’s impending demise. This particular one features a. Style shade with oblong jewels in the boarder. The jewels to me look like amber with streaks of white in them….. Just beautiful to look at. They protrude out from the shade as one of my images shows. This is a full sized table lamp with an 18″ diameter shade that stands 22″ tall. I see two or three small cracks in the dark brown apron pieces, but none in the triangular top sections or jewels. The base has a wonderful multi colored patina. It has its original cap, finial, and sockets which are dated June 13,’99. It has been wired with cloth braided cord and a nice old plug and comes ready to use and enjoy.
