Antique Arts & Crafts Turquoise & Purple Stained Bent Slag Glass Lamp Shade WOW
This is a large antique arts & crafts bent slag glass and iron lamp shade in the most beautiful colored glass. It features gorgeous blues and purples. It dates to the late 19th century, approximately the 1890′s to 1900′s. Looks to be all original and in great condition with one hairline crack on a top small piece, see last photo. Measures 19″ wide x 11″ tall with the opening at the inside of the top at 6. This piece ships fully insured and free to the lower 48 states. This ships very very carefully packed and fully insured! Pioneered in England, slag-glass lamp shades became popular around the turn of the 19th centuries. This style incorporated streaked, opaque glass initially produced by incorporating slag from iron-smelting foundries. The look became common for paneled lamp shades with complicated metal filigree framing each slag-glass segment.
