DUFFER & KIMBERLY WATER LILY TABLE LAMP. Up for sale, a Duffner & Kimberly table lamp, as leaded glass shade appears as manufactured, with pink and cream water lilies and green lily pad set against a background of vertical amber and green striated panels. Shade rests on a Duffner & Kimberly bronze base with thistle design decorating the foot and shaft. The base has a 4-socket cluster and fleur-de-lis cap. It is finished in a rich brown patina with subtle green highlights. Shade is pictured in the book. By Paul Crist, pg. Both shade and base are pictured on this page in photographs. SIZE: Shade 18 dia. CONDITION: Shade is very good to excellent with very few tight hairlines, no missing glass. Base is very good to excellent. The D &K COMPANIES PHILOSOPHY WAS TO OFFER LIGHTING FIXTURES IN THE PUREST PERIOD STYLES FOR THE FINEST RESIDENCES THEY CHOSE TO COMPETE DIRECTLY AGAINST TIFFANY STUDIOS. WHY IS SO LITTLE KNOWN ABOUT THIS FINE CO? D&K EXISTED FOR A BRIEF PERIOD OF TIME, 1905 BUT BY 1913 WENT BANKRUPT. THE RECESSION OF 1908 BADLY HURT SALES FOR OPULENT EXPENSIVE ITEMS. TODAY D&K LAMPS ARE LIKE TIFFANY STUDIOS, HIGHLY COLLECTABLE AND IN GREAT DEMAND WHILE COMMANDING HIGH PRICES. VERY LITTLE PRINTED INFORMATION IS KNOWN TO EXIST. Please look at all of the pictures closely and ask any questions you may have, if you dont have a question it lies on you to ask them. A lot of things I sell are mostly pieces picked up at estate sales, private parties, or personal items.
