Beautiful antique rare Judson Studios large glass slag shade with b ronze top crown handle, and construction mold, we most recently acquired this piece from an an estate mansion in san francisco, CA that was filled with rare treasures, this particular piece was displayed as a center show piece. Origin: Judson studios, los angeles, CA. Period: 1900 – 1910. Condition: very good solid condition, there is (3) issues. (1) Glass plate is cracked, and (2) glass plates need to be replaced. These issues do not alter the beautiful character of this piece whatsoever. 22h x 29w x 29d. Construction Materials: glass, bronze, lead. In 1897, the judson studios was established in los angeles by the painter and professor william lees judson and his three sons. Helmed by walter horace, the eldest son and a stained glass expert, the studios thrived from the start, beautifying the booming metropolis with works that represented the best in traditional and modern design.
