Antique Bradley & Hubbard Slag Glass Lamp Nouveau Arts & Crafts Handel Era B&H

Fantastic antique Bradley & Hubbard lamp. Lovely bronze base is signed near sockets. Two socket pull chain function. Handsome slag glass eight panel shade in just about perfect condition. No cracks or chips. Looks like a vintage re-wire (70s’maybe) so it’s safe and ready to use. The bronze base is weighted inside with a heavy cast iron disc to prevent tipping. The shade has a kind of art nouveau organic flow mixed with an arts an craft appeal. This came out of a Boston area artists estate with 4-5 proper Handel era slag glass and stained glass lamps. All very nice condition. The estate had sat empty for decades chock full of very good quality antiques and finally there was an estate sale. I grabbed two of the lamps. If I had room I would have taken them all. Each as good or better than the next. The other I got was leaded stained glass and I may list it at some point if you want to keep an eye on my listings. This one really I can’t say has anything wrong worth noting except a tiny verdigris spot on base and slightly bent prongs on plug. A very nice piece for any home. The slag is a butterscotchy caramel complexion. The reticulated metal overlay is beautiful with lamp on or off. One of the bulbs in the lamp in the photos is orange. The former owner had it in. I guess he liked the way the orange lit the shade up. Maybe that’s all he had laying around, who knows. That explains the extra orange glow though. This is a very heavy lamp weighing in at nearly 14lbs total. Most of that in the base obviously. Total height with finial is about 20. For international buyers we will need to discuss that matter.
