Antique Lamp Reverse Painted Lamp Handel Era 8 Panel Slag Glass. Antique Lamp Reverse Painted Lamp Art Deco Art Nouveau 8 Panel Shade. For sale here is a stunning and wonderful antique table lamp. This is a very nice and clean example of a great looking Handel Era lamp with a great rarely found Deco theme that is in absolutely excellent overall antique condition and lights up just beautifully. Stunning Art Deco / Nouveau themed Antique Lamp, reversed painted base with 2 curved glass panels on the base and 8 matching reverse painted striated glass panels on the shade decorated on the interior with stylized floral leafage and urns. The detailed forged filigree overlay frame/metal work is so well executed featuring polychrome enameling and is very ornate. The lovely decorated glass panels are striated much like the early Handel Lamps shown on pg 46 of The Handel Lamps Book, Carole Goldman Hibel author. This 21 1/2 extreme diameter reverse painted 8 curved glass panel shade is Art Deco in style/Art Nouveau in theme floral medallion style pattern on each panel. The colors are very crisp in detail and vibrant. This amazing rare lamp stands a whopping 26 tall. Brass pull chain sockets, on/off switch for lighted base located on lower exterior. Most of these lamps found have 6 slag panels this one is large with 8 panels. This is a very nice and clean example of a great looking lamp with a great rare Deco theme that is in absolutely excellent overall condition and that lights up just beautifully. Glass lamp shades with painted decorations on the inside of the shade, called reverse painted, [or hand painted] began to be produced in American around the turn of the century. By 1930 reverse painted shades were no longer made. Companies producing such shades include. Pittsburgh Lamp, Brass and Glass (Pilabrasgo).
