Leaded lamp chicago mosaic antique stained glass arts and crafts slag glass
Up for your consideration is an antique leaded glass lamp attributed to the Chicago Mosaic shade company. The pattern seems to be of a lotus flower or water lily motif. This lamp base measures almost 23 inches tall and the shade is about 18 inches in diameter and 8 inches deep. The base has some wear but is in good working condition, it is an unsigned example I have seen before. I had to replace the finial so it is not period. The shade has a few very tight heat cracks but they are barely discernible. They did a nice job so it now looks like the solder and cap have an applied metallic bronze patina over it. I would rather my shades stay grungy and the only time I clean them is when they are heavy with cigarette tar and nicotine. The lamp is still a nice example with a lot of textured glass so it really sparkles. Please look at the pictures I have included.
