Here’s a HUGE and very rare Handel triple griffin lamp base. Solid bronze with an additional heavy weight on the bottom. 29″ tall, 12″ round at the bottom. Complete with three matching Hubbell stamped sockets having their original porcelain interiors and acorn pull chains. Includes cap and finial and is even wired up with period style cloth braided cord and comes ready to use. This is a very large and heavy lamp base….. Big enough for any of their very large leaded or overlay shades. It is not signed (probably had a cloth felt and tag on the bottom), but is 100% guaranteed to be a Handel lamp base. Please take a look, ask questions, and let me know if you need any additional pictures. This is a rare and beautiful example of Duffner & Kimberly’s work. I believe it is referred to as the “shell” lamp or a “medallion” lamp, but whatever the name you can see by the sheer quality and attention to detail that this is one of Duffner’s great lamps. Just look at how great the workmanship is on the “shells”. I will let my pictures do most of the talking here but will note that the shade is 19 1/2″ in diameter and the lamp stands 22 1/2″ tall. I see maybe 5 or 6 small cracks throughout the shade, but nothing serious. Adding to the greatness of this lamp is its solid bronze, fully signed (see stem picture), base with matching gold wash finish. The base is 100% original right down to the bottom plate. It has the nice long Hubbell sockets with their original interiors and acorn pull chains. It has been wired with period style cloth braided cord and a nice looking plug and comes ready to use and enjoy. Lamps like from Duffner & Kimberly do not come up all that often and I can honestly say that you won’t find one in as nice or in as original condition as this one. Here we have a really unique circa 1920′s era CYLINDER FORM BENT PANEL SLAG GLASS SCENIC LAMP we acquired out of an estate. It has three filigree scenic sides with a swimming swan. It is fairly tall measuring approximately 21 inches high with a 6 1/2 inch base. This is not an example we have ever seen, and imagine it is not an easy lamp to find very unique! The over all condition appears to be pretty decent – see pictures. The gold paint looks like it may be original? But we’re not totally sure. It has certainly been there for a very long time. The caramel slag glass is in nice condition with no cracks. The pull chain works for off an on. It has a really nice look and would make for a nice touch in any room of your home you choose to display and use it in. The new owner is to pay 45.00 for secured FEDERAL EXPRESS.
