CENTURY CAST BRONZE BEAR FIGURE, MOST LIKELY A CIGAR LIGHTER IN THE PAST, SET ON A BURL RED WOOD SLAG BASE. AND CONSIDER AND CLASSIFY THEM AS FOLK ART LIGHTING. THE LAMP WAS ACQUIRED FROM AN OLD SAN FRANCISCO APOTHECARY. RUSSIAN OWNERS OF IT HAD RETIRED, BUT COULD REMEMBER THE LAMP PRESENT IN THEIR STORE FROM LATE 1930′s. I FOUND THE LAMP IN A VERY GOOD CONDITION, THE GLASS SHADE IS WITHOUT ANY CHIPS, CRACKS OR REPAIRS. THE BRONZE HAS IT’S OLD ORIGINAL AND BEAUTIFUL PATINA. I HAD TO REWIRE THE BASE WITH A PERIOD CORD, JUST TO MAKE SURE THAT IT CAN BE SAFELY USED NOW. THE MEASUREMENTS ARE: 18′ TALL, THE OVAL SLAG GLASS SHADE IS 14″ x 12″, THE RED WOOD SLAG BASE IS 14″ BY 10″.
