Large Antique Empire Slag Glass Lamp Shade & Lighted Lit Base VG Condition
This Is A Large Antique Early 20th Century Lighthouse Lamp Produced By The Empire Lamp Company, Chicago. The Condition Is 100% Original Except The 11 Ft. Cord Which Has Been Replaced. The Shade Measures 19 Inch Wide By 8 Inch Depth. The Lighted Base Is A Tall 21 Inched By 9 Inches Wide. The Condition Is Very Good With “NO” Damage To Any Metal. There Are Areas Of Wear On Some Of The Gold Wash On The Lamp And Shade As Expected For A Lamp Of This Age. There Are “NO” Cracks In The Glass On The Shade Or The Base. This Is A Six Panel Shade And There Is One Panel That Has A Small Corner Chip That Is Concealed By The Metal Shade, Please See Photo. There Are A Few Rough Edges On A Couple Of The Shade Panels. Arts & Crafts Leaded Slag Stained Glass Lamp Handel Duffner Tiffany Era
Please take a look, ask questions, and let me know if you need any additional pictures. This is a really neat leaded glass lamp. Whaley, but I have never seen one exactly like it before and it is not signed. What I can say is that the shade was more difficult than average to make since ALL of the pieces are bent. That is the sign of a higher quality maker since it took a lot more time. The design and shape of the base remind me of Whaley which is why I think this one might be from them. In any event it is a beautiful lamp with a great design. I will let my pictures do the talking here but will say that the glass is all fine with no cracks or replaced pieces. The colors are very well done as well with a nice mix of caramel and green background with deep red 6-petal flowers. 16″ diameter shade; 20 1/2″ tall. The base has its original dark gold finish, original sockets, and original pan shaped cap. The lamp has been recently wired up and comes ready to use and enjoy. If you like lamps or need parts please feel free to look at my other auctions or contact me. That being said, please do not embarrass yourself with a lowball offer thinking you are going to get such a lamp like this. It is just a waste of both of our times. Antique Arts & Crafts Handel / Unique Leaded Slag Stained Glass Table Lamp
Please take a look, ask questions, and let me know if you need any additional pictures. This is a very unusual, very early, Handel/Unique leaded glass table lamp. I say unusual since I have never seen one like this with such a large flower design. The glass they used in this one is just outstanding and when lit the lamp is essentially on fire! What is really unusual about this one is that the shade is actually SIGNED! I have never seen a Unique shade that was signed, but it is clearly stamped “UNIQUE ART STUDIO, Patented”. Just a beautiful overall shade…. One like no other I have seen before. The shade is 17″ in diameter and 8″ deep. Absolutely excellent condition without any cracks, chips or damage whatsoever. Now for the base…. This is an early Handel one. Solid brass and very well done. Prominently signed HANDEL on the underside. Overall the lamp is 19 1/2 tall. I have seen Handel/Unique combinations before and this is a great example of one that really works together. Bigelow & Kennard Hampshire Leaded Slag Stained Glass Table Lamp Handel Era
Please take a look, ask questions, and let me know if you need any additional pictures. This is a great looking lamp whose shade was made by Bigelow & Kennard and whose base is Hampshire. I have seen combinations like this with many Hampshire bases and most look pretty good, but this one is just outstanding…… Its a perfect match! It has just a wonderful squatty Arts & Crafts look. I will let my pictures do the talking here since they can do a better job than I can about describing i. T, but will note that the shade is 19 1/2″ in diameter and the lamp stands 20 1/2″ tall. The shade is not signed, but I had a. One in pure white a few months back that was signed, and I will fully and unconditionally guarantee this to be a genuine Bigelow & Kennard shade. This shade is done with wonderful dark yellow/white glass which gives it a very rich color when lit. The glass is like the kind they used in Bradley & Hubbard lamps….. That really deep and sought after yellow stuff. Without even a singe crack and all of the filigree is just fine. It is so well. The Hampshire base is what I believe to be a fairly rare form with an. Swirl design that is repeated 3 times around the girth. I see no cracks or chips in the base and the finish is outstanding. The base is signed as shown and even has an old paper label with the number 007 on it. It comes complete with matching GE labeled sockets having their original porcelain interiors and ball ended pull chains. Has has been wired with period style cloth braided cord and comes ready to use and enjoy. This is a really nice arts & crafts themed table lamp with a great Hampshire pottery lamp base. Sorry to do this and I hope you will stay on as fine and loyal customers. I have for sale this super nice and of excellent quality, Tiffany Studios Banded Dogwood shade on a ribbed library base. Both base and shade signed Tiffany Studios please see photo. Study the glass quality and compare to the others and theres no comparison. Same with the leading quality and patina on it, world class. The shade is full sized measuring in at 18 inches and the base at 24 inches tall. Both shade and base without issue which means for the base no metalware breaks or damage and its in fine working order. The base also with three perfectly working GECO sockets with original interiors and turn key switches. The floral shade in excellent condition as well with all pieces of glass present and accounted for. The leading throughout tight and right, and again, the patina spot on. The glass of great quality. Also, as you can see, this shade lights up super well and its way better in person. If you need more photos let me know and i will send them.
