Antique Whaley Leaded Slag Stained Glass Priarie Table Lamp Handel Duffner Era

While I hesitate to assign a maker there, I do believe this to be a J A Whaley prairie style leaded glass table lamp. It is a very cool and very well made lamp with a very nice geometric design in a flat prairie style or pagoda looking form. I will let my pictures do most of the talking here and as you can see from them the lamp displays extremely well and would look awesome in any setting. The shade is composed of deep caramel white pieces mixed with dark green ones to give off just the right amount of contrast. The glass is just beautiful and the design is totally arts & crafts. In terms of size, this is a standard sized table lamp with a 16 1/2″ diameter shade that stands 20 1/2″ tall. In terms of condition, I see one or two small cracks, but nothing serious and no replaced pieces. The lobed form base is why I believe this to be a Whaley lamp, but neither it nor the shade is signed so the true maker may never be known. What it is is a 100% old and authentic lamp, from the early 1900′s, in fine original condition. It has been wired with period style cloth braided cord and a nice old plug and comes ready to use and enjoy. J A Whaley is not as well known as Duffner or Handel, but they made some awesome lamps and this is one of them! These things need to be double boxed and packed really well. If you like lamps or need parts please feel free to look at my other auctions or contact me. That being said, please do not embarrass yourself with a lowball offer thinking you are going to get such a lamp like this. It is just a waste of both of our times. It is a large and impressive lamp with a very nice floral design. I will let my pictures do most of the talking here and as you can see from them the lamp displays extremely well and would look awesome in any setting. The flowers contrast well with the very unusual pinkish purple background glass. In terms of size, this is a large table lamp with a 20″ diameter shade that stands 25 1/4″ tall. In terms of condition, I see two or three small cracks here and there, but nothing serious. There are no replaced pieces and the shade has that nice rattle of an old and original lamp. Patina on both the shade and base is just outstanding. The tree form base goes extremely well with the floral shade, and the two look just awesome together. It has been wired with period style cloth braided cord and a nice old plug and comes ready to use and enjoy. J A Whaley is not as well known as Duffner or Handel, but they made some awesome lamps and this is one of them! These things need to be double boxed and packed really well. Mission arts crafts slag stained leaded glass lamp shade handel tiffany whaley
A extremely fine all original antique leaded slag glass with very fine bronze metal overlay work. A well documented very rare Whaley lamp shade in excellent condition. The slag glass that was used in this shade is second to none very vibrant and full of fire and intense colors the photo’s don’t do it any justice at all. The shade is very tight with no loose glass or leading. The original bronze patina on the leading is untouched and in excellent condition. It’s very seldom that I get to say this but there are no cracks or repairs to this very fine old shade. The untouched very dark patina on the extremely finely crafted bronze metal overlay work is in perfect condition. The shade is a little dirty but I will leave it up to the new owner to decide if they want to give it a gentile cleaning. This will also allow to be installed on many different lamp bases. There is a small flat spot on the shade fitter but will not affect it in any way that is shown in a photo. C 1910 J A Whaley leaded glass lamp. Here we have a super fine rare Whaley leaded lamp. There was a lot of work put into building this beauty! Much of the glass is bent and that’s not an easy task with this much detail! As always pictures do this no justice! In person the sparkly red highlights really light up! The shade I believe to be a very early Whaley. And it is in great shape! No looseness no separations. Maybe 1-2 hairlines I can’t find. The base all original Whaley base with wheel & cap with attached finial. Base is one of the best I’ve seen as far as patina even over all of base nice chocolate brown. Details: Wired with a black twisted cloth cord in line dimmer on / off switch. 3 Webber Fat Boy paddle sockets all working. Stands 24″ tall foot is 9″. Shade is 20″ at widest place and 8″ deep. There are no cracks in the glass leading is right and tight! Is of course a marriage of 2 HIGH quality items. That do work pretty well together. The wonderful rose boarder design is depicted on an 18 diameter dome shaped shade with a green geometric. I will let my pictures do most of the talking here, but will note that the glass is just beautiful and highly colorful and there are maybe 2 or 3 small cracks here and there throughout the shade.
