Please take a look, ask questions, and let me know if you need any additional pictures. This is a wonderful and very colorful floral border lamp by Suess. Just a beautiful looking lamp on an absolutely wonderful solid bronze spade bottom base. Just look at the flowers and how well they are done. They use bent glass and are arranged in a repeating pattern with green leaves and brown stems. I will let you look at my pictures and be the judge of how impressive this lamp really is. In terms of size, this is a full sized table lamp. The shade is just over 17″ in diameter and the lamp stands about 20″ tall. The shade is in absolutely wonderful condition with maybe 5 or 6 tiny breaks. The outstanding spade bottomed base is solid bronze and is 100% original with a great deep green finish, original sockets and wonderful cast bronze cap. It has been wired with period style cord and comes ready to use and enjoy. If you like lamps or need parts please feel free to look at my other auctions or contact me. Antique Suess Poinsettia Leaded Slag Stained Glass Lamp Duffner Handel Tiffany
Please take a look, ask questions, and let me know if you need any additional pictures. This is an absolutely HUGE and wonderful table lamp by Suess. It is an enormous lamp! I believe the pattern is called the poinsettia, but it is essentially an exposition of flowers! I will my pictures do most of the talking here, and from these you can see the very elegant and well thought out design of this beautiful lamp. This is massive table lamp with an 24″ diameter shade that stands 24″ tall. In terms of condition, I see only a few minor hairlines here and there, but nothing serious. The solid bronze tree trunk base is the best Suess made and just goes wonderfully with this floral themed shade. It is beautifully detailed and super heavy and sturdy. The finish is just fantastic. It has been wired with period style cloth braided cord and comes ready to use and enjoy. Suess did not sign their shades or bases and thus this one is not signed anywhere, but you can find similar examples of these out there. If you like HUGE lamps and are looking for a truly impressive example, this one is for you. It is just a fabulous lamp all the way around. Please take a look, ask questions, and let me know if you need any additional pictures. This is a beautiful arts & crafts geometric brickwork lamp done by Suess. Super look with deep greens and even some blues mixed in with white and shaded very well. I will my pictures do most of the talking here, and from these you can see the very elegant and well thought out design of this beautiful lamp. This is a full sized table lamp with an 17 3/4″ diameter shade that stands 22″ tall. In terms of condition, I see maybe 3 or 4 tiles with minor hairlines, but nothing serious. I see no evidence of repairs or replaced pieces. The heavy solid bronze base has a great arts & crafts look and a wonderful 3 arm light cluster. Neither the base nor the shade is signed as Suess did not sign anything. It is a wonderful, antique, 1900′s era lamp in very fine overall condition. Wonderful yellow floral apron pattern against a dark green brickwork backgorund. Beautiful yet sophisticated and simple arts & crafts geometric design, with great shading. 17″ diameter shade; 20″ tall. I will let my pictures do most of the talking here but will note that both shade and base are in excellent overall condition. The shade has maybe 1 or 2 small cracks. The solid bronze base has its original brass colored finish which complements the yellow flowers just perfectly. It has its original long Hubbell sockets and acorn pull chins. Now before you ask me….. The lamp has been wired with period style cloth braided cord and a nice old plug and comes ready to use and enjoy. Mission arts crafts stained slag glass stickley tiffany frank lloyd wright suess
A very large incredible antique all original very rare mission arts and crafts Suess ornamental Frank Lloyd Wright style slag glass chandelier in excellent condition. This is the most beautiful shade on e-bay and certainly one of the rarest and most beautiful that’s ever been on e-bay for that matter. Suess hanging shades are extremely rare. This shade pre dates Frank Lloyd Wright so a shade like this could have influenced him perhaps. The original patina is in excellent untouched condition. This shade is extremely dirty it was sitting in a basement for more than fifty years and could use a very good cleaning that would only enhance the beauty of the original incredible slag glass in this shade. They used the most beautiful slag you will ever see anywhere it is full of color and fire the photo’s truly don’t do it any justice at all. There is only one very tiny crack barely a half of a inch long in a small lower border piece of glass not worthy of a photo that will go completely unnoticed. The story was this used to hang in a very old saloon with four others in Chicago not far from where it was made. The original real thick porcelain copper and brass Benjamin four socket cluster is in perfect working order. The shade is 26″ at its widest point by 16″ tall. But when you do get to know them you will see that they stand for high quality and very well built lamps with really cool designs. This is one of them. Great arts and crafts looking water lily themed lamp. Neat size (18″ diameter shade, 18 1/2″ tall). Very cool look with mosaic background that really highlights the water lilies. I will let my pictures do the talking here but will note that the shade is in excellent overall condition with maybe a crack or two here and there. The solid cast bronze base has an awesome dark brown finish on it and appears all original with turn key sockets and a nice cast design cap. The lamp has been wired with period style cloth braided cord and comes ready to use and enjoy. Suess lamps do not come up that often. The company was only in business for a few years. Antique Suess Bent Slag Glass Lamp Bradley & Hubbard Miller Handel styles
This is a wonderful large bent Slag Glass lamp by the Suess Ornamental Glass Company of Chicago. Max Suess started the business in the early part of the 20th Century. Several patents were issued to him for his processes and techniques in manufacturing his products. Son Walter expanded the business into the manufacturing of lamps. Their period of lamp making lasted only a few years and was stopped by a serious fire in their factory. This lamp is unmarked and stands 27 inches tall on its 11 inch in diameter base. Apparently many of their bases were of bronze, however, this one is of cast iron and quite heavy with most of its original finish. A magnet sticks to it. The shade is 17 1/4 inches in diameter and 8 1/2 inches tall. It appears to be a sort of hammered copper or brass and held together with rivets. The slag glass panels are held in place with brass strips and small bolts with sheet metal thin nuts. Check out the photos. The patinated finish is almost all there and it looks great. The bent slag glass panels are all there with no chips or cracks. The lamp has been correctly rewired and works perfectly. Just a real nice rare lamp for your home. Suess Ornamental Bronze Lamp Base, Leaded, Slag, Stained Glass Shade, Handel Lamp
Up for consideration is a Rare all orig. Solid Bronze Suess Ornamental Tree Trunk Base. This by far is the best base made by Suess or any other company. Stands 23″ tall and has a massive 13″ Dia Foot. The cap is stamped with a number on the inside. Very heavy and with its orig. Untouched patina this is a keeper for that Suess shade you might have on a lesser quality base. The base has its orig. Harvey Hubbell sockets with there orig. Mica inserts and Acorn pulls. The patina is very nice must see in person pictures just doesn’t do this base justice. No repairs or cracks. The only minor issue is there is a small area where the foot is raised on the edge as shown in the last picture. Does not affect the base at all. Base has been rewired with period style cloth wire and old Hubbell Plug. These bases don’t come up often in there orig. Due to the size and weight. Impossible to find Suess solid bronze lamp base with original finish, cap, sockets and all the works. 24″ tall, 10 1/2″ wide at the bottom. Beautiful dark green finish. Matching long Hubbell sockets with their original interiors and acorn ended pull chains. Wired with period style cloth braided cord and ready to use….. All you need is the right shade! This is a very hard to find and very sleek looking Suess lamp base. It was used with their very best shades. If you have a nice apple blossom or overall floral, this would be the base to have! Antique Vintage Leaded Slag Stained Glass Suess Handel Duffner Tiffany Era Lamp
I bought this awesome looking, very large, overall floral lamp some time ago believing it to be Suess. It does have many of the characteristics of Suess, but I now believe it to more likely be made by either Colonial Art Glass or. Please take a look, ask questions, and let me know if you need any additional pictures. First off let me say that this is a HUGE lamp. It measures 24 1/2″ tall and the shade is 20″ in diameter. The base has a 12 diameter foot. The shade is just fabulous and lights up like you wouldn’t believe. All of the flowers and petals are made with granite backed glass to give them extra fire. Many are actually bent to give the shade its shape. The yellow/caramel background glass works well to highlight these flowers and is a very nice touch. I see 3 or 4 small cracks in the glass, but nothing serious. No replaced glass and no repairs. The base is just outstanding. Solid cast bronze with the best age darkened patina i have ever seen on one. It has what look like its original long Hubbell sockets with their original interiors and acorn ended pull chains. It has been wired with period style cloth braided cord and a nice old plug and comes ready to use and enjoy.
