For Sale is an authentic, antique Wilkinson art nouveau and/or Victorian lamp (BASE ONLY, NO SHADE) from the early electric era suitable for a slag, leaded, or stained glass lamp shade. Larger Size: This base is quite tall at 25 inches so you could use A LARGER THAN AVERAGE DIAMETER SHADE with it. Therefore, it will fit many or most all Wilkinson leaded stain glass shades and also will fit Wilkinson slag glass/art glass shades provided the shade has the proper opening diameter of approx. 3 or 3 1/8 inches. This base is most definitely 100 years old or more since the Wilkinson Company ceased operations by 1915. BASE ONLY, NO SHADE: The glass lamp shade shown at the end of the photos is NOT included. The top ring or heat ring measures approx 3″ or 3 1/8″ therefore it will fit most if not all other Wilkinson lamp shades, as these Wilkinson component parts are most often interchangeable. Add your own shade, and you will then have a complete Wilkinson lamp! Measurements: Lamp base is 25 inches tall to top of finial. Round bottom base measures 8 3/8 inches across. Top heat ring/shade holder approx 3″ or 3 1/8″. All measurements are approximate. Note #1: Please VIEW ALL PHOTOS as they are a very important part of the description. Note #2: Condition: shows charming age-appropriate wear and patina, including small finish losses here and there notably (a) on the edges of the round bottom base and also (b) on the center column where no doubt many hands have grabbed hold of it during the past century! , plus possibly a few scuffs, scratches, nicks here and there as one would expect to find in a 100+ year old antique lamp. Overall this is a very impressive and straight antique lamp which displays quite beautifully! Note #3: Glass Shade is NOT INCLUDED. Sale is for the BASE ONLY. I displayed the lamp base with a genuine Wilkinson shade (see photos), but ONLY FOR ILLUSTRATION PURPOSES (shade is not included). You must supply YOUR OWN LAMP SHADE. One of the six holes is original from Wilkinson (where a tiny Wilkinson set screw might go in if I had one, however no screw is included). The other five will be covered when a Wilkinson shade is placed on top of the shade holder ring. Note #5: Caution – I always recommend rewiring old lamps before using them. This lamp is now functional and I have been using it several times, however, I cannot vouch for this antique/vintage turnkey socket and I cannot guarantee somebody else’s wiring. It is always a prudent decision to have old lamps checked out by an electrician before you use on a regular basis. Remember: Better to be safe than sorry!
