Beautiful slag veins marbled caramel glass ball globes on glided brass base. Round footed bases with integrated in shape switch buttons on top. Original switches made of catalin Bakelite. The lamps was recently rewired with twisted textile cables. Both lamps tested and working excellent. The lamps in excellent condition. Vintage German Mountain Climber Hanging Lamp Red Slag Glass Pendant Light
As pictured – a vintage gently used mountain climber themed hanging light fixture, with a red slag glass and lead light, all original. The figure is wearing traditional Alpine garb, perhaps made for decor in a rathskeller. I’m not the original owner, but according to my research online these were made in Hamburg, West Germany, in a Tiffany technique. Made to look like carved wood but I believe it’s a resin of some sort. No maker’s marks or date. It works and there is minimal signs of wear and tear. No chips or cracks – the glass is in excellent condition. The cord doesn’t have any kinks or worn spots, the rope is ready to hang. The fixture itself from “hand to toe” is approximately 22 tall, the cord is nearly 16′ long in addition to where it’s stapled to the figure. The switch works fine. I would be happy to answer any and all questions, or provide more pictures if needed.
