Up for your consideration is a a large antique slag glass shade, c. The shade is in excellent structural condition, but was originally painted with stenciling, which would be best if it was removed with a scrub pad. It takes a little work, but you will end up with a beautiful, large shade. The piece measures 20.75″ in diameter, and the shade is 9″ in tall. It will fit on virtually any standard lamp base. Excellent original condition, no damage to the glass or filigree. The shade had stenciled paint on the outside, which can be removed (relatively easily) with a scrub pad. I cleaned most of one panel to show you. There are also some black pinpoint dots on the shade (pits), which were from manufacture. This quote is for the Continental U. Up for your consideration is an antique scenic slag glass lamp made by Miller Lamp Co. The two tone shades are blue and purple when unlit, but a the purple turns a fiery orange when illuminated. The base is not original, but a nice match. It has a 1 silver extension (as seen on the photos of the top of the lamp base). The shade has been professionally repainted, with a period color brown finish as the old patina was worn. There is some minor separation (1/8) between a few panels and the very top of the shade. The glass is stable and stays in place. The lamp has been rewired, and both sockets and pull chains work properly. The finial may not be original. The lamp presents well, has been professionally rewired, and is ready for immediate use. The piece measures 24.5″ tall, and the shade is 17″ in diameter. This quote is for the Continental U. This is a very large, beautiful, early 20th century slag glass lamp with a rare, lighted base. The lamp also features very uncommon colorful glass. The lamp appears to be all original. It is in excellent condition considering it’s age with 2 exceptions. One of the upper curved panels has a hairline crack that has been stabilized with what appears to be epoxy. It is nicely done and the crack is nearly impossible to see what the lamp is not lit and very easy to overlook when the lamp is lit. The other issue is a bit of missing filigree on one pane. Again, an untrained eye would probably never notice. I have detailed these issues with pictures. Aside from that, the lamp works and is beautiful both lit and unlit! This is an early 2oth century slag glass lamp. The shade and base are a marriage but are well proportioned to each other. The base is very heavy! The shade features 6 curved panels with lots of green accents. Two of the panes have repaired cracks. These are noticeable on closer inspection. We have used this shade in our home for a while and turned the repaired panels towards the wall and they went unnoticed. The lamp has 2 working sockets as pictured.
