Spectacular Handel base lamp with Unusual Palm Design Shade/Slag Glass Shade. From my personal collection of so many lamps its getting to be that time when I would like to see someone enjoy the magnificent pieces I have collected. This is a mint Handel base lamp, not signed, but if you don’t know what they should look like ask any antique dealer. The base is in perfect mint patina condition… This is a two socket Lamp. The lamp stands 22″ tall with an unbelievable 21″ shade. This shade is what I would consider a palm tree design but call it what you wish. The colors are made up of bronze, reds, yellows, caramel etc.. There are eighteen main veins extending to the bottom of the shade, each vein holds approx 50+ pieces of glass. That equals approx 900 individual pieces of glass, hand applied pieces. The shade has no cracks, breaks… Mint in my opinion….. Just look at the pictures. I should list this higher but it is time for someone else to get the enjoyment out of my hundreds of unique and attractive collection. Nostalgic Lighting Policies READ. Most pieces are picked at estate sales, garage sales, etc. The majority of things I sell are in my opinion and some very long term collectors Antique or vintage, so a little minor wear can be expected from time to time. Spectacular and RARE Antique HANDEL Slag Glass Table Lamp
Although unmarked it is pictured in the Handel book. The shade has nice slag glass panels with a nice art nouveau floral design. The base of the lamp has a bronze shaft. It’s in excellent condition with no damage and is in excellent working condition. Had a new cord put on back in the 1950s or 1960s and it’s still very good. There are a few clips missing on the inside of shade but the glass is held strongly in. The shade measures about 16.5″ wide and the entire lamp is about 19.5″ tall. Pictured on page in Defalco Book on Handel lamps. Again, we cannot find and markings on shade or base. We can only go by reference book. This is an un marked lamp believed to be a Handel from reference books. As handel did not always sign their base and shades sometimes it’s hard to guarantee authenticating.
