A large incredible antique all original very rare J. Whaley mission arts & crafts solid bronze leaded slag glass table lamp in excellent condition. This is one of the most beautiful lamps on e-bay. This lamp is truly a very finely hand crafted work of art from a master craftsman. You rarely see this amount of detail in any lamp. You very rarely can find a all original lamp like this in this condition anymore. The original very rich green bronze patina is in excellent untouched condition with no damage to it anywhere. They used the some of the most beautiful slag you will ever see anywhere it is full of color and fire the photo’s truly don’t do it any justice at all. There are what appear to be three cracks in the very beautiful slag glass panels shown in the two last photos. They must be very tight cracks because you can’t feel them with your finger nail at all and you can’t see them at all unless the lamp is turned on that will go unnoticed. I’ve never seen anything like it before. They are close together and can be turned to the rear. The original bronze patina on the leaded is in excellent condition. The shade is in very sound and tight condition with no loose pieces of glass. The whole base and parts are constructed from solid bronze and it has a cast iron weight in the bottom of it making it very heavy and stable. A extremely fine all original antique leaded slag glass with very fine bronze metal overlay work. A well documented very rare Whaley lamp shade in excellent condition. The slag glass that was used in this shade is second to none very vibrant and full of fire and intense colors the photo’s don’t do it any justice at all. The shade is very tight with no loose glass or leading. The original bronze patina on the leading is untouched and in excellent condition. It’s very seldom that I get to say this but there are no cracks or repairs to this very fine old shade. The untouched very dark patina on the extremely finely crafted bronze metal overlay work is in perfect condition. The shade is a little dirty but I will leave it up to the new owner to decide if they want to give it a gentile cleaning. This will also allow to be installed on many different lamp bases. There is a small flat spot on the shade fitter but will not affect it in any way that is shown in a photo. Mission Oak Wood Arts and Crafts SLAG GLASS TABLE LAMP 21 High, Shade 13 1/2
This beautiful lamp is 21″ high, the shade 13 1/2″ in diameter, and the oak base 6 1/2 at the widest. From a California estate, the previous owner restored antique and vintage lamps as a hobby, and there was a very large shed full of lamps and lamp parts! I can find no chips, cracks or other damage to the glass and, as you can see in the photographs, it is beautiful when lit. There was about a 3 crack at the top of the wood base that has been repaired. You have to look close. The shade would benefit from increased stabilization, as there were originally 4 wood supports from the base to the shade. The electrical works fine. I believe the socket to be original, the brass shade support is not Thanks for looking! A large incredible antique all original very very rare mission arts & crafts signed G. Trautmann Raven Wood Chicago hammered copper and leaded slag glass table lamp in excellent condition. This is one of the most beautiful lamps on e-bay and certainly one of the rarest that’s ever been on e-bay for that matter. I have never seen any other lamp anything like this one. I believe this lamp is a one of a kind. I don’t believe he ever mass produced lamps. I can only find very little about him but have found other examples of his work and have had a few of his lamp bases over the years that weren’t signed. Another lamp I did find of his that was signed had a date of 1909 with the signature. If anyone one knows any thing about him please contact me with the information. This lamp is truly a very finely hand crafted work of art from a master craftsman. He even made his own chain pulls for the socket switches. You rarely see this amount of detail in any lamp that I know of. The original patina is in very good untouched condition with some minor loses as shown. This lamp is extremely dirty being in a storage unit for more than thirty years and could use a very good cleaning that would only enhance the beauty of the original incredible slag glass in this shade and the patina on the copper. I have left it as found for the new owner to determine how and what to clean there is 100 years of dust and dirt on it. There are no cracks in any of the slag glass panels. I did have to make some very minor repairs to some of the leading by re-soldering it together where it had separated over time and now its good for another 110 years. There are some minor small dents in the shade that will be shadowed by the sheer beauty of this lamp as shown. I have listed this lamp twice so I could post more photos of it. An Arts & Crafts slag glass pendant chandelier, early 20th century. One shade is missing a panel, and another has a chipped panel as shown. All remaining panels appear original, and all shade clips remain intact. Wear to the metal finish/patina commensurate with age. It was rewired some time ago and could use another wire update. The fixture measures 24 inches high total x 24 inches across. The arms are 18 inches across. Each shade is 7.5 inches tall x 6 inches across. It weighs about 23 lbs, not including packaging.
