Shade has 21″, lamp base is 29″ HUGE!!! All parts are original, original heat cap, original cluster with three “HUBBEL” sockets with original pull chains and finials. Very nice dark chocolate patina. Fine Unique Stained Leaded Art Glass Lamp c. 1915 antique slag Handel
Fine Stained Leaded Art Glass Lamp c. Fine Stained Leaded Art Glass Lamp, circa 1915. We feature a growing selection of Oriental, Chinese and Ethnic antiques. FREE PICK-UP IN THE CHICAGOLAND AREA. Up for your consideration is a beautiful Unique stained glass lamp in the “apple blossom” pattern, c. The piece retains its original bronze base, and is in excellent condition. Although the base and shade are not signed, they are well-documented and desirable pieces by Unique (see Paul Crist). The lamp is 23″ tall from base to finial, and the base is 8″ in diameter. The shade is 16.25″ in diameter, and about 8″ tall. Overall, the lamp is in excellent condition. I found two panels with tight cracks, and a few with tight flakes. All glass is original, and complete. Overall, it is about as nice as you are likely to find. The base has been professionally rewired, and one socket and chain was replaced. There is minor wear to the patina, and one small restoration to the inside of the lamp (as shown in the last photo). It cannot be detected from the outside. This quote is for the Continental U. Old Slag Glass Panel Lamp
Here’s an old slag glass panel lamp that has amazing caramel slag glass–check out the photo of the inside of the shade! The lamp has its original painted finish–that on the shade is better than that on the base. The lamp is 22.5 tall. The maximum diameter of the shade is 16″ and the shade is 8.5″ deep. Antique J A Whaley Arts & Crafts Leaded Slag Stained Art Glass Handel Era Lamp
Here’s a really nice floral boarder leaded slag glass lamp that I believe was made by the J A Whaley compay. It is not signed and I have no way to tell for sure, but I have owned the exact Whaley base before and the shade is reminiscent of the style that they made. Regardless of who made it, this is one great lamp. It uses a combination of curved caramel slag glass panels in the top which end at a magnificent floral boarder of bright red 5-petal flowers. Very nice lamp with great presence, especially when the lit! It is a large table lamp with an 18″ diameter shade that stands 25″ tall. It is in very good overall condition with one small barely noticeable crack in one of the upper panes (as shown) and a few more in the floral boarder. The 4-socket base has matching Hubbell sockets with acorn ended pull chains and has been wired with period style cloth braided cord. This is a great example of a very colorful leaded glass lamp that I believe was made by the J A Whaley company sometime in the early 1900′s. Old Antique Arts & Crafts Handel Unique Leaded Slag Stained Art Glass Lamp
Here’s a really nice, arts & crafts style leaded slag glass lamp made by Handel/Unique. I say Handel/Unique since the shade is clearly a Unique shade and the base is most definitely Handel. These sorts of combinations are well known and many Handel bases have Unique shades on them. It was very common to do so, I believe even in the early 1900′s when these were made. This is a fine example with a highly colorful periwinkle shade having a great pink floral banded apron against a dark caramel geometric background. It is a full sized table lamp with an 16″ diameter shade that measures 23 1/2″ tall. It is in very good overall condition with a couple of small heat cracks primarily in the lower two geometric rows (as shown in my images). The 3-socket base is a great example of Handel’s work and even has a little original red paint in the crevasses which matches the pink in the shade very well. Neither base nor shade is signed. Unique NEVER signed their bases and Handel bases like this one were often signed with cloth tags on the green felt that was once on the bottom of this base. The base has 3 matching Hubbell sockets with acorn pulls and has been wired with period style cloth braided cord. Gorgeous Colors of Cream, Brown, & Caramel. This is a large and heavy lamp measuring 24 inches across the bottom and about 17 inches tall not including chain.
